Default special hardship order.(not asking for sympathy)

now i relise i am a complete ******** for doing it and under now circumstances are i asking for symphony or anything but im pretty sure i have lost me license for 6 months for doing 142 in a 100 zone overtaking a car (doing 91 in a 100 zone going buy the cop). story goes overtaking then up ahead car come round bend and shit me self so i accelerate to get in front and flash (portable road side camera)....(big flash wen its at night)..went back and had a chat with him and (nice cop) said it was 142kph...loss licence 6 months and $933 fine.

i just want to know if i could apply for a "special hard ship order" so i can drive to work and back (bout 5 k's to and back) as i work nights.

keeping in consideration that i already know i shouldn't have done it and im only asking if anyone has got a pemit to drive for work purposes

You can use your work purposes as an excuse to appeal your license. You will get it back with 1 point for a certain amount of time. You will also have to pay court fees etc.

Also, i think you meant, "sympathy".

You can apply for one, doesnt mean you will get it but doesnt hurt to try. Although if you get pulled over and you arent on your way to or from work, expect the book to be pelted at you.

If you dont NEED the car for work, they probally just tell you what Zuicider said and go buy a push bike.

This is a windup? anybody that drives a car to work or as part of their job is exempt from the road rules?

Think of it this way, one door closes, another opens. You'll lose your job, someone else will get one, unless of course you find another way of getting yourself there.

you are allowed to exceed the limit when overtaking momentarily for safty reasons.
take it to court with photo in hand and see what the judge has to say, if your lucky the photo will
    prove that you were overtaking.

u got some sort of a law or a rule that states that? if thats the case im gonna contest a hand full of my speeding tickets i got as a young fella when i was over taking

seriously, 100kmph is the limit, you are not alowed to exced that speed regardless of over taking or not.

anyways, im sure you will be able to apply for a workers licence, a few of the boys have done it before at work, ill ask them for ya 2morrow and see how they went about doing it.

pretty sure speeding to "avoid collision/danger" isnt condoned by any law...much easier and safer to sit back or hit the brake pedal wen merging instead of exceeding speed limit.

but saying that if your in the middle of overtaking you dont have time to think should i brake or accelerate you just do whatever your instinct does

Burnz that sounds like a load of horseshit to me. If you have to speed to overtake then you obviously can't judge a safe gap and shouldn't be driving in the first place.

op- I'd invest in a pushbike, it can't be that cold, you live in qld lol, if you ride fast enough you won't feel the cold and in a couple of months it will be warming up anyway. Not sure what the go is in qld but in nsw i have heard that you can get a probationary licence where u get 1 point I think for 2 years. If you lose that 1 point you are ****ed! A lot of people just take the suspension if they can find another way of getting to and from work because they find it too risky being on probationary licence for that long.

The whole point of overtaking is that the person infront is doing less than the speed limit, therefore burnz you are not allowed exceed the limit when overtaking momentarily for safty reasons... there would be no reason to... If you have to speed to overtake, then the person infront is obviously going close enough to the speed limit for you to not have to... what a load of shit....safety reasons...gimme a break..

    ROAD RULES 2008

Nothing about being allowed to speed to overtake.

Like TrikkBen says, the whole point is to overtake people going slower than the speed limit. If you can't overtake them at the speed limit, you shouldn't be overtaking them.

i somehow don't think 42 ks over the limit would be allowed even when overtaking
i've seen speed traps here at the end of overtaking lanes.

    yes very true.

i was thinking of a single lane, exceed maybe 10k's to do the job safely

some overtaking lanes are only few 100 meters long and it seems like if the car that you want to overtake isnt doing 50km below the speed limit then you can not overtake in time without speeding. its bullshit.

Blunt, perhaps. But the simple message contained within is if the income from his job is important, he will find a way to get there, no symphony here, just a prelude to what the courts will say . No judge/court is going to fret about him losing his job.
