A week before its meant to go and this Happens

Hey everyone,

So have sold the VS, just waiting for the new owners to come and pick it up next week. I went up Cessnock today to do abit of work etc. I parked in the Woolies car park, but wanted to Straighten up so i was abit straighter. So i started to reverse and I had stopped, hadn't put it into Drive so my Reversing lights were still on. Next thing i see in my rear view mirror is this **** wit in a ford come flying out of his car spot behind me and BANG, he bloody hit me . My god i couldn't believe it a week before its meant to go and THIS happens. He said at first I hit him, I turned around and said, how could of I hit you when i had stopped and felt my bloody car Jolt forward. I was so ropeable and told him his Judgement skills are Sh!t and shouldn't have a bloody license and he needs to get a Holden . So now i need a new back bumper and new Tail lights. Can get a Bumper for $70, but the tail lights are going to set me back around $200 - $250. I nearly died when i saw it happen. I got his full name, Number and drivers license number. He said he didn't have any insurance. Well he is going to get abit of a shock when he gets my bill.







Bring on the new car... Am totally and uttly sick of this car and the work i have to do to it, even when it is sold grrrrrrrrrrr.

my cousin hit someone when he had insurance and i'm pretty sure they claimed it on theirs, then their insurance chased him for a weekly payment until it was cleared

Gunna need alot more work than a new rear bumper and lights mate...
Tha whole rear 1/4 is going to need to be rewelded and painted, looking at at least $500+ just for that at a decent smash repairers.
You might have some trouble with proving who's at fault also, since you where both in reverse - it would be a bit of a shit fight.

Yeah Bad luck is my middle name today. When i saw it was a ford, i just thought what are the odds of that happening lol, it seems like they ALWAYS target us commodore drivers.. Yeah thank god for 3rd Party hey. Need to take it to the cop shop and fill out an accident report etc. LOL Yeah that sounds about right... 60 p.h. and I'll take my sweet ass time to do it *a week* lol.

He had a tow bar which hit my car. Yeah when i pull the bumper off we are going to try and re-shape it etc. If that fails, I'll just go out to the wreckers and get them to take one off and we will weld it back here. Or if someone is nice enough on here and would like to earn abit of money over the weekend that has the right equipment to weld it back on, I'll happily drive over to your place to have it done and pay you for it

Thats a costly job to fix that, would be near a write off on a VS. Mortons VP got written off with similar damage

Yeah been to the Commodore shop, they said $200 for a new set if i trade in the current ones. Wreckers have nothing apart from the back bumper and a 1/4 panel bit in perfect nic. The 1/4 bit is just pushed in, its not dented.

just go through your insurance and let them take the moron to court to recover costs, it shouldnt cost you anything at all & teach him a lesson for not having insurance and report it to police to cover yourself if he trys to put it back on you.

I wish i had the time to do it, but I need to have it all done before next Tuesday and the Insurance process takes way to bloody long.

Yeah I had very similar damage done to my car when a mate backed into mine. Cost me 900 bucks to get fixed.

Minux, read the whole bloody thread. Some people have no choice but to drive a car that is sold, until the new owners come and pick it up. I only drive it WHEN I have to. Yesterday was one of those days. I picked up a set of tail lights for $170 and a back bumper for $70. Me and dad are going to try and fix the quarter bit.

You want me to re-read the whole thread and understand you thought you had no choice but to drive a sold car? Surely you have friends/family/public transport? There is always a choice. I just hope the people who bought the vehicle are informed of what happened.
