had my car stolen tonight..i let my dumb sister use my car, when she got out at an atm to withdraw some money..she left the keys in the car coz it was only 2 metres away...an opportunistic **** decided to jump in and speed away..

coppers say there is only about a 5% chance it will be returned in the same condition..granted she was a ***n moron for leaving keys in the car but there are ***ers out there who wait on this shit is ***n ridiculous..

anyone had there car stolen and got it back ok?

I don't think insurance covers stupidity. (Being that you let your sister borrow your car )

Not sure. I know they cover if your house is broken into and they take the keys.

Could be seen as the car wasn't stolen. ring them and find out? most claims sections are open 24/7

Insurance doesnt cover you if the keys are left in the car... otherwise insurance fraud (or attempts at it) would be alot more common

As for having cars stolen and returned I have two stories...

My grandfather use to have a beautiful old valiant... It was stolen one day from out the front of the house.. cops found it a couple days later burnt out on the side of the road... Thats the bad news story...

The good nes story... My dad had a VB SL/E a while back... was stolen... It had a car phone in it, so we called the car phone and they answered.. we said 'do what you want with the car, but just leave the stuff in the boot, drop it off somewhere and we'll pick it up'...

The night after.. the car was returned unmarked (and with a full tank of petrol - it had less than half a tank when it was taken).. the boot was empty though

Oh... and one of my friends cars was stolen... no trace of it for over a week... then it was spotted abandoned and untouched.. so it does happen!

Hopefully you get your car back bud... best of luck

Sorry to hear mate...especially when it wasn't you who had the car out, but your sister. All I can say is best of luck, and that I hope you get it back in one piece.

thieves..... a thief stole my mate dog and his housemates dog (nothing else was taken)

My mate has moved to noosa been there about 6-7 months. his dog has recently been transported up there to live with him.

Last saturday night, some Kent broke into the joint, and took both dogs.

My mate is out to kill whoever took them. He's had the dog for almost 4yrs.
Out of all the things you could take, they take a dog.

    Good luck with your insurance.......

In our old house, when we were just moving in, we had all the stuff piled up in the room closest to the garage, with only essential like beds set up. Anyway like the third night in this new house we were broken into and what do you think the a-holes stole, my brothers friggin stereo speakers, no the damn stereo itself or my dads laptop 1 metre away, the stereo speakers which have a plug on the back that only that brand stereo have. Idiots.

Hope you find your car in one piece, this sort of stuff really hurts, but if fate allows maybe it can be the thief that really hurts as you lay into him with an iron bar.

what kind of ******** steals a dog????

OP, you need a vn with a really worn barrel. with my last car, i used to be able to take the key out when it was on, so i could lock the doors and withdraw my money . i wish my new car had the same problem, because it doesn't actually start hot, so i have to be careful what i do.

My ex had his stolen, left his keys in the ignition in a mates driveway. The window was broken and didn't go up so he might as well have given them an invitation.

His wasn't insured, he found it at the beach the next day. (I'll add pics at the end)
They stole his Tacho, Cd player and amp and our baby car seat. They also smashed bottles all through the back seat. The whole thing was covered in fingerprints and there was a random blanket in the back seat.

We sat with it waiting for the cops for about 6 hours and when they got there just said they couldn't do anything and he should just call the tow truck.
He was devastated but I just told him that At LEAST he got it back. There was so much more they could have taken if they really wanted to. His car was cleaned inside and out the arvo before as I took pics for him as he was thinking about selling it...

Best advice to catch them if you do get it back would be do not touch it. Just call the cops.
Good luck getting it back some people are real low lives.. (especially people who steal dogs!)
