Default who wants to have a cry

my old man is up a nsw firebriades fire training/competion for rescue atm

he was telling me they use brand new commodores as the mules, last year they were using monaros etc etc

they take them outside, crush parts of them with a backhoe, cut them apart with jaws of life, then send back to holden to go straight in the crusher....

some cars ive seen in this video, WM stato, VE omega, berlina, calais, sv6/ss, sportwagon, VZ sv6 and WL caprice?

Geez it would be nice wouldn't it? Crushing VY's etc and using them like they were rusty old shitboxes of scrap.

Nothing to really get upset about - if i recall most of the cars destroyed in these sorts of excersises are test mules, and have to be destroyed anyway. IIRC Holden often donates/lends/sells their test mules to these types of organisations...if the car has to be crushed, it may as well get put to good use before it gets crushed.

Would probably be of more benefit to train on newer models as well as safety cells, etc change between models and what may work by cutting point A on certain cars may actually not work on a newer model

Now wouldn't it be ironic if they crushed all those car that would normally be crushed under the hoon laws. These hoon cars would actually be used to further the training of people who have to cut people out of cars due to hooning. Poetic justice if you ask me.

That's not a bad idea considering most common car they would be rescuing someone from would be a VN with a P plate driver

Use the brand new cars while they're still in production and the most current models.
