    Default Rego costs

Hi all, I was just looking for rego costs up here in Qld since they have risen by 25% for '09-'10. If you think you are paying too much for your rego, then check out this RACQ report you may just be a little surprised at what you see

Yea it makes me laugh cause I have just renewed the rego on my v6 for 6 months and my v8 for 12 and it cost about $1500. Apparently ute regos are higher again by $60 or something like that

not sure how much difference there was compared to last years but i've just paid the rego on my wifes 4 cylinder atthe new rate and it was $648
i paid the rego on my 6 cylinder back in march and it was $660 so assume next year that will be well over $700.

just had a look at your link and a 6 cylinder will be $801
    i can hardly wait

Yeah, Queensland rego costs are fairly appalling, especially for the condition of the roads you're paying to drive on. I wasn't a fan

The Gateway isn't a highway, it's more of a full-contact stock car speedway circuit

My car is rego'd in the country, at my mums place and that works out $200 odd cheaper than if it was in Melbourne. Technically whenever my rego is due I am staying there for seasonal work, and I once asked the bloke at vicroads, and he wanted the address that I was currently staying at for rego, not the one I spend 10 months of the year at...

I don't think it was so much of a subsidy, as just a lack of a state tax.

Not anymore! Fuel has been put up in price now as well. It is a lose lose situation for motorists in this state now. We pay a traffic improvement fee which is integrated into the rego fees but as for improving the traffic; ie roads and the like; it just never happens. So if anything, we are a lot worse off than the rest of Australia

Are we sure that subsidy has gone? lol

It is a fair bit. Not much fun but they know people will still pay it.
