Default removing oil stains from concrete

just wondering the best way for removing oil stains from concrete? ive tried a gerni and degreaser but it doesn't seem to work the best.

the concrete is fairly new but the last owners camry has left a pretty big mark from where it always dripped so if anyone has any good ideas it would be appreciated

Yeah, you need something to lift up the grease (brake cleaner or CT14), and then something to absorb the lifted grease. You can buy proper grease absorbing sand from Bursons.

Yep, I agree with all of the above, I recently had a transmission swapover done in my garage, a few litres of oil got dropped.. all I did was spray cheap ass degreaser on it, and then Wax and Grease remover all over it, threw some kitty litter on it, stepped on it to crush it down, left it for 20 minutes and swept it off.. good as gold

A tile cleaning acid will lighten the stain but be careful if you leave it too long you will end up with all of these really clean marks

leaving clean marks wont be a problem because the concrete is only a couple of years old so with a quick spray with the gerni it comes up very white so its just very annoying when all the concrete looks brand new and you have a very big patch of ugly oil.

thanks fellas for the ideas, will have to give the kitty litter a try this week

    If you've heard if it,
Simple Green, just a few sprays, let it soak for about 5-10mins, the use a scrubbing brush with hot soapy water.
Ive used it plenty of times when ive spilt the odd drop of oil.

needed a bit of a cleanup in my garage when i moved into this place. just a poured washing machine powder on the spots and enough water to make a thick paste.
then after a bit of leaving it there, got it with the wire brush.
