hi guys i just registered with HVTC. i am finishing year 12 in about 12 weeks or so and it's time to start looking for an apprenticeship to go into...

i have already decided on Electrician (if i can get it) or plumber...

anyway. has anyone ever signed with these guys?....if so: where they fast at finding you one?... they reliable? etc etc..

their all pretty much the same, they get a money incentive from the government for signing people and finding jobs, plus bonus for exceding the target, plus more at the 3 month interval if your still successfully there.

Its all a money thing that seems to work

I was with HVTC up here in the South Maitland Workshops as a fitter and turner, they were OK, got to go to a few different places while I was with them - Power Stations had the best dollars, also the most dangerous place to work at.

Cannot complain though, done my apprenticeship, got my qualifications and had a little fun at "Happy Valley" .

Yeah there was a huge stuff up HVT wanted me to start 2 weeks after my boss wanted me to cos of paper work ect but after a few f's and c's I told them I wasn't doing there paper work and never called them again

As for the money its average pay for apprentice's around this way but if you get straight in with a mine the cash is crazy

I dont know if HVTC is the same as HVGT, but if they are then they are ok. I was with IGT a few years ago. They simply hire you and host you out to an employer. If you want to be a lecco (good choice by the way ) then make sure thats what you do. If you take their dodgy test and they say no you can only do plumbing or some shit, make sure you tell them your not interested in that and you want to be a lecco and you will go elsewhere if they try and make you do otherwise.

Na vrwagz HVGT is now nova skill I did that's stupid test with HVTC and had em stumped got second out of 40+ people in the part with with the pullies and the machanical side of stuff then got bottem 3 in the english and maths section go figure that one out
