well as people are probably well aware i get really bored with cars, i was going to sell the monaro at the end of the year to buy one with a 6speed ls1 and those turbo kits that you sit near the diff.
as many of you were probably thinking, so young (20) why be a f*ckwit just stick with what you have. i thought the same thing and am now looking for a project to keep my brain from coming up with new cars to buy (there was even thought of a r33 gtr at one stage). anyway put that behind me and....
THE FINAL DECISION:
HQ tonner
308(355 stroker) or 350 chev. depending on availability
barbados green with pearl through it
gts mock up with those new shallow mount bonnet scoop
THE MUST HAVE floorboard tray, no other exceptions
well ive put it out there, now to hear peoples criticism and positive comments.
all are welcome i don't mind, as long as it has nothing to do with money or personal attacks.
cheers guys and gals
Johnny
only thing i'd input is that its been done 1000 times.
why not try and do something a little more original?
in the end it is your car though, so do whatever makes you happiest!

i was thinking the same thing mate, but i love them.
why not buy a late model wreck with a ls1/2/3 in it and do a full transplant including dash etc.

yeah man, about 3 months ago i put a deposit on a HQ tonner with a 308, VERY clean car, interior was custom, everything on the engine that could have been painted and chromed was done...it was very similar colour to the Blue they use on the BA XR6's
it had an alloy tray, although i wanted to do the polished floor board tray..
it is very original. but there'snothing better than owning one....(had a metallic dark green one awhile ago. Got written off and got $5,500 payout)
anyway i decided to wait awhile till my next HQ or WB etc... think i might go HJ next...
do a polished apple tree floorboard tray, had a mate with one it it looked good.

Don't do a tonner....Every man and his dog is doing tonners at the moment and no matter what you do to it a tonner will always be ugly! Do a HQ-WB ute.....
Tonners FTW, half way through a build for my sister, but ran outta cash, so its just sitting there in the shed...
Only thing, its going to be Pink.. and she wants the polished wood tray, atm its checker plate..
Def. do the late model conversion.. LS1/2/3 etc, would be horn in a old holden..
Either that, or I've been thinking of an old holden/chev something that you don't see all that often, sedan, or even wagoonie, but trying to find a nice unique shape is no simple task..
its been done so many times go for something more origional

My fiance and I are in the process of reviving a 1979 HZ Kingswood to its former self, we've got 2 cars, ones got mint interior and rusty dented body, the other has no interior but a straight, fairly clean body... it's just been taken back to bare metal and undercoated. It's going to take us well into next year so looks like I'm not getting married anytime soon lol
But it's going to be old school, 2-tone white roof and baby blue on the rest, venetians, sunvisor, hopefully will be able to find a bench seat for it. Once it's finished we'll stick a for sale sign on it, THEN I'll put the money towards a wedding haha

haha i thought everyone would mention how common they are, and yes they are common. my idea is to make i as different as possible without destroying it. i can say for sure that it will have forced induction and later model seats (i have to have comfortable seats) ...... but other than those 2 things and things i have mentioned in opening post everything will be decided on whilst building it.

go the chev motor, bigger range of aftermarket shit and its cheaper too.
