I can't stand radio music!

This is only going to be my first and last rant thread but this is seriously is doing my head in

We've got a radio at work and every station plays the same crap. Seriously playing the songs 10 times a day is bloody ridiculous and the crap they play is god damn awful. Guys with their high pitched voices singing like girls, happy music e.g. Black Eyed Peas Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night, the lyrics in the songs just repeating the same words over and over again. Rarely they play any half descent bands like Linkin Park, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Hilltop Hoods and I can name dozens more thats radio friendly (no swearing) but they play commerical music especially Pop Rock and R&B.

Sadly there's a reason commercial radio plays the same stuff over and over – they are PAID to play certain songs.

Will there ever be a radio station plays what we actually want to hear?

I agree. Todays mainstream music is rubbish. For me its either Tripple J, Fox FM in the arvo for Hamish & Andy or my iPod/CD's.

Toatlly agree with this MaN|aC!! People wonder why i dont have any stations programmed in the headunit in my car. I would rather listen to good music than the crap they call music or constant talking that you get with radio! Lately tho ive been listenin to triple j a lil bit, less mainstream and no generic pop junk, they had me hooked on the hottest 100 countdown aswell

i dont think ive eer listened to radio in my car, where i used to work had the radio on 8 hours a day so you heard songs 5-10 times a day drove me ****in nuts 12 hour days were worse

in sa Triple M has a no repeat workday but the song that are played are 80% of the time repeated each day

You reakon the crap on the radio is bad. At my work we play this absoulte sh!t music that we have to PAY FOR. Subscription music, with 20 odd stations, and we have to play this 40's-60's crap, and I respect some of the classics but I have never heard and wish I never have to again, this music. For gods sake some of its not even in english!

I do think it would be hard to try and please everybody listening as everybody has such different music tastes. But yeh they could be doing better

When i work we have the radio pumping all day in the factory and the one person that drove me to insanity was that bloody pink. She was replayed continuous about a month or two ago when she had a few top 40's. The sad thing was i new almost every lyric for her sh*& excuse of songs. Even some of the good songs that come out are ruined as you just get so sick of them.

I tried listening to triple j but they play all the same crap all the time also. I also seriously hate all their shit presenters. Dools is not funny. The breakfast show is utter crap and I also couldn't care less about the pressing issues the hack girl craps on about.

probably 1 out of every 10 songs is shit... better than 1 of every hundred being good like on teh commerical stations though

and bezz... have you listened to the presenters on the other stations??

the triple j presenters are AWESOME!!! rosie and dools are the best!! and all the others... sam simmonds has me in stitches every time he's on

Hey, you should feel sorry for me. I'm a high school music teacher and all the girls think they're the next Jessica Malboy and the boys think they're bloody Neyo or Chris Brown. Many of the kids I teacher can even name ONE rock band! The way music is marketed and produced now is disgraceful. Think of all the great bands that are still played today after 20, 30 or 40 years: Deep purple, Led Zepplin, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, ACDC just to name a select few. Music now is so disposable it won't be remembered in 6 months time.

My preference is either ABC radio, 2UE or CD's

I love Thursdays on Hot FM, it must be request day because there's always good old stuff on there. Sometimes I'd rather listen to the radio at work, the boys love their rap and hip hop, but after listening to it for 5 days straight, non-stop, while they're trying to rap along to every word kinda made me go a bit insane. By the end of it I was pretending to sing along with swear words, 'f**k f**k b*tch ass motherf*ckin' ho's n b*tches etc etc etc'

Triple J has even gone down hill in recent times though, they're playing more mainstream stuff and pop and dance tracks, which is sometimes okay but theyre not what they used to be.

But it still kicks the ass out of other commercial radio stations.

ipod always saves me though, if I've had enough I'll put the headphones in and zone out.

Triple J is the light, and one true path to free, in-car or in-shed audio entertainment.

For me anyways.

Not only is the music actual meaningless crap on mainstream stations, you barely get to hear any of it cos of all the ads and crap.

occacionally some triple J music does become mainstream (an obvious one is Lily Allen lately), but the source of it was Triple J, as their catch phrase says "We love new music!"

You should start a school of rock with your classes... Jack Black style. Send them home with Rock albums to study and stuff lol
