Default Selling a NSW registered car in QLD?

My car is registered in NSW. I just moved to qld. I'm just trying to work out how to sell privately with NSW rego. I'm sure I can get more private sale than the trade in on the car I want

My SS is registered in NSW till Oct! Am I best to just sell as is,then leave it up to them to sort out. Or sell without rego, or change to qld rego 1st. It looks like it will cost me around $1400 to change over too QLD rego for 12months.

Just because I can trade it in and avoid any of the above options.

    Cheers!
Im probly wrong so dont listen to me

I dont know how it is up in Queensland but down here in Vic transfer from a different state is pretty much the same deal as a normal transfer/renewal of rego. The only difference is you need to pay an extra 30 bucks or whatever it is for a new set of plates.

You shouldnt have to much trouble selling your car with interstate plates, as long as it comes with a roadie, the transfer is quick and easy, most of the cost will come from the re-rego which they would have to pay in 3 months time anyway.

I wouldnt let the rego run out though because that becomes a pain in the arse. If all else fails bite the bullet and renew rego and transfer it over and bump it up 700 bucks or something.

You can buy the NSW rego car and fill out the paperwork.
I would insure it comprehensive at this point also.
Bring it to QLD. Get a QLD Roadworthy. Get CTP insurance.
Go to QLD Dept of Transport
Surrender the NSW plates. The rego left is refundable but only to the previous NSW owner.
Pay 6 or 12 MONTHS rego.
Put the plates on and go home for a beer.
