Not sure where to put this, if I ask in the projects section it may get missed as thats more a shof off your project.
Anyway was working in the engine bay on the HJ on the weekend and somehow pinched the metal brake line to the LHF caliper, so long story short its been split in half.
Ive been trying to find somewhere that sells them without luck. Rare Spares reckons he has them, but Im not convinced I think hes thinking of the flexi hose that connects to this metal pipe then runs to the caliper, but Im after the pipe that runs from the proportioning valve, under the engine, to the flexi hose that then runs to the caliper.
Just thought I'd ask in case someone else here has had this issue, or can help me out with somewhere that makes them.
Thanks![]()
i remember seeing you can buy it in 5m lengths and bend it to shape.
to do it, you'll need a pipe bender, a flaring tool (30 bucks from bunnings) and maybe a pipe cutting tool (~10 from bunnings)
don't forget to put the tube nut on before flaring it.
thanks dude, where did you see the piping ... Bunnings by any chance? I assume its similar material as the piping used in hot water systems, only smaller
yeah i reckon brake pro would do it. or if you have any plumber mates they could bend it and flare it for you.

there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
There are heaps of these at wreckers. I've personally gone and got one for my HQ GTS Monaro because I couldn't undo the original one when stripping the car and rounded off the fitting.
But, as mentioned before, jump on a forum such as OldHolden.com | Old Holden Internet Resource or fastlane.com.au and I reckon you'll find plenty of people who will probably rip one off a wreck in their back paddock and send it to you.
I'm a regular on both those forums and in general they are pretty helpful people.
cool thanks guys,
of all the parts i never wanted to damage these pipes because i cant find them anywhere, i mean the flexi hose yes, calipers yes (managed to score a new set for 60 bucks), overhaul kits for the prop valve etc yes, heck i even have a second prop valve, but when it comes to these damn pipes ... hmm![]()
Just go to a brake shop. They can make exactly what you need.
