Yup, camaro is outselling the mustang, first time since 1993...

They sold 9320 of them in june... Chevvy dealers have been selling them straight off the truck.

azk, many of those orders are from pre-orders, this month and next month will be the true test. This will hold the truth of it all.

'The Camaro's exterior design manager, Australian Peter Hughes, said he wanted the vehicle to be distinctly Camaro: "We're incredibly proud of how faithful the production version is to the original concept.'

I suppose Aussies designed it for us - then said "oh that looks like S**t, just Give it to the yanks"

The one in transformers 2 is even more over the top, with different wheels and a bird eater.

Peter hughes wanted it to be distinctly camaro because GM told him it had to look EXACTLY like a piece of concept art they sent him or they wouldnt accept it. He wasnt allowed to deviate from the concept. So no, it was never designed for australians.

He's incredibly proud because the way the concept art was drawn, it was a feat of engineering to get the chassis to work right.
