What is the correct way to write a phone number. I see many different formats written down. Some formats are just annoying.
Some of the formats that I have seen are:
Landline
(xx) xxxx xxxx
(xx) xx xx xxxx
(xx) xx xx xx xx
(xx) xxxxxxxx
xx xx xx xxxx
Mobile
xxxx xxx xxx
xx xx xx xx xx
xxxx xx xx xx
xxxx xxxxxx
I use
Landline (XX) XXXX XXXX
Mobile XXXX XXX XXX
Which format is the correct one and which one do you use?

Landline would be (XX) XXXXXXXX and mobile XXXXXXXXXX. Does it really matter but? I don't think there is a right way haha
I use:
Landline: (XX) XXXX XXXX
Mobile: (XXXX) XXX XXX
I concur with nathg though - it doesn't really matter which one you use.
Sometimes it depends on your sequence....
IE if you had mobile with double numbers, it might read easier like 0400 11 22 33 rather than 0400 112 233 etc... Or maybe those business with a word number? IE 0400 00 BATH or something
The is no right or wrong way, but I guess telephone directories have dictated the way we write out the numbers mostly.
What ever easiest to remember like as to write down,
my little brother has his wagon for sale and we stuck the number on the side - xxxx xxx xxx
Home: xxxxxxxx.
Mobile: xxxxxxxxxx.

My home number is easy as to remember... it has 3 different numbers and they are all pretty much doubled lol
yeah i use the same
but i dont write the first 4 numbers of the mobile in brackets, only if i'm putting my number into something that could go international (which rarely ever happens i think ive done it once lol) i put (xxx)xx xxx xxx
apart from that
landline
(xx) xxxx xxxx
mobile
xxxx xxx xxx
I actually normally don't either...just for some reason I ended up doing it without thinking about it.
if im sellin shit on the net i use
MOBILE : XX XX XX XX XX
HOME: XX XXX XXX
other wise just normal: XXXXXXXX
I work for telstra and use different combinations everday. I usually just use whichever format is easier to read, depending on what I'm doing.
