like this says does anyone know about jap cars skylines inparticular??
anything in particular you want to know about? engine, suspension, reliability, aftermarket parts, etc?
yeah more the engine i mean with the R33 inparticular does it have different motors like ones i should steer clear from or are they all pretty much the same
a know abit about them. what do u want to know?
lol wat i said in above post lol also interms of bodykits and parts how cheap is it all
rb25 or rb26dett
both strong motors
gtr FTW
but IMHO r33s are the worst skyline
what model are you looking at?
only the gtr came out with the twin turbs 26..
the 2.5l is the rb25 as the name suggests but theyre just a single turbo n fairly boring stock
theres nothing wrong with them, still a good car
i just prefer the others lookwise compared to it
i like the look of the 33 thats why i was asking about that haha lol yeah i was looking at a rb25 than why is boring what kind of kw can i expect?
r33's are the good looking ones. A mate of mine is in the market for one and there seem to be a few around. The 4 doors seem to be a bit rarer though, especially manuals.

PM me or email philthy@shoppingsecure.com.au for all your stereo needs
you can get 200kw with very little mods
just wind the boost up to 10psi an they handle it fine aswell
nothing beats the sound of a skyline coming onto boost
theres just something about em!
what actually are u wanting to know?
the r33 skylines are pretty good, very easy to modify and easy to make power
the rb engines are pretty strong. Not 100% sure but the skylines r33 skyline is around 160kw stock, however with few little things you can make the skyline move pretty quick.
The gearboxs and diffs are strong, good for lot of power.
well i know about the engine now thanks guys thats exactly what i wanted to know but what about a body kit i mean how much would that be and also how much are parts
jap cars go alright i have driven a r32gtr, r32gtst with engine work and a 180sx drift pig and i loved them all.
this sight might help you out

I'm a fan of skylines. One day I'll get a 2dr R34 GTT (costs like $17-$20k) (because can't afford a GTR (costs like $40k). It'll have the RB25det engine (possible one day RB26).
Btw the engine name means things
RB is the series
25 - is the litres - 2.5, can get 2.0 and 2.6 etc
D - Dual over head cams
E - Electronic Fuel injected
T or TT (Rb26dett) - Turbo or Twin Turbo
Strong engine, many mods available. They are most commmon in Auto/Triptronics.
Uhh ... they kinda cop magnets ...
Difference between R33 and R34 is the taillights, 33's have same size tails while 34's have 1 bigger than the other and the bodykits are different aswell.
Maybe that's helped you a lil.

Ah ye, GTR is top range, then GTT, then GTS25T (which is standard one u see with the idiots on the road, this they hot shizz) I think.

Amps: Audison SRx2, SRx4 & Alpine M350

Few more differences between 33's and 34's then just the taillights.
imo the 33's aren't that nice, the headlights let them down and some of the front bars are terrible.
Wikipedia would be a good start, SAU is a good site though.
Parts can be quite exy, a lot of it's imported jap stuff and as soon as you add the name Nismo to something the price just jumps massively. But being a jap car there are a heap of options available.
I do believe some r33's came with non turbo motors, but gts-t's are the way to go if you can't get a gtr.
Management, Boost, Manual and they can make some good power with minimal mods.
Trying to find one that hasn't been thrashed by a young boyracer - good luck.
agreed you'll pay alot to get a decent one and like what has been said parts can be exy.
i found out the hard way with my yota gt4
Chev badges are an instant fail
mates got a gt-t r34..tiptronic auto, goes pretty hard..ive been told the 33's are the worst and slowest of the skylines?
Sticking a Chev badge on any Commodore is like putting a Nissan badge on a VL
EOI....VE SS 18" wheels x4 with 5000k's on new tread, 2 of have very minimal gutter rash (previous owner) otherwise like new send me a pm if interested.
You'll still be happy even if you get an R33. Chris DeJager had an R33 before getting an S14. Both were his daily drive cars, but put out plenty of power when he races in drift australia races. Nice easy engine to work with too.
Here are some links to some videos of the R33. Before anyone jumps up and down, Chris doesn't drift on streets, all in a controlled environment. All videos here are provided for reference and were perfored legally.

That's definately true!! you can pick up quite a few on autotrader etc ... and theres usually a list of mods which follow lol.. if I was you I'd try to find a stock one and hope to hell some douche hadn't crashed it or anything.
With mentioning the taillights, it's the easiest way to know between the 33 and 34 ... that's why I thought I'd point it out. It's like the tail lights on different commy models.
Just please don't put Nismo stickers on it and crap like that!!

Just another quick one what do people know about supras same kind of questions which car is better
once you get over the fact that you need midget hands to work on them they are very far ahead of their time...
i own a 1988 MK3 with a 3L 7mgte..
i rebuilt my 7m with a cometic headgasket and the proper prep work, over all the cars are very advanced and the suspension setups is spastic. puts power down easily, goes round corners like its glued to the road and has plenty of toys...
MK3 (1986.5-1993) came with the following motors
1G-GTE - 2L twin turbo inline 6, good top end, small motor not too many horror stories, copper head gasket, beware ceramic turbo's!
1JZ-GTE - 2.5L Twin turbo inline 6, short stroke version of the 2jz, strong motor, copper head gasket, beware ceramic turbo's!
7M-GE - 3L N/A inline 6 the slow motor.. due to a design flaw the headgasket is weak and will let go round 130,000km
7M-GTE - 3L Single turbo, good potential. suffers from the same design flaw as the n/a version. large single turbo is good for 15-17psi (i have one of these)
MK4 (93+) came with the following motors
2JZ-GE - 3L N/A inline 6 boring motor, don't buy one of these
2JZ-GTE - 3L Twin turbo inline 6, "*bullet proof" strong motor, wont blow up good for insane boost and stupid power. <<< get one of these! rated at just 215kw @fly due to the jap "gentleman's agreement' most make closer to 270-280kw @ flywheel...
if you buy a mk3 get a 1jz unless you like pulling motors to bits!
