    Default Mini loader / dingo

Anyone hired these little machines before? I need to spread a few cubes of dirt and rotary hoe the back yard.

I've heard mixed reports, some say they are good others reckon they are shit. I'm sure moving the dirt will be ok, but not sure if it will have enough power to rotary hoe, and get nice and deep.

or maybe just get a skid loader, not sure on licensing though.

    your thoughts...

You'll need a license to hire a bobcat, but the dingo you'll be ok.
They're pretty good, you'll be suprised what they can shift and do. For what you need to do they should be fine.

Dingo's are good but they do take a bit to get used to.
A bobcat is a far better choice but unless you have a licence to operate one then it is not really an option for you. You can however have a contractor with a bobcat come in and do the job for you but it will be expensive (possibly $80 -90 P/Hr or even more). Having said that though; the bobcat with an experienced operator will be a lot quicker than a Dingo. My suggestion would be to jump on the phone and get some quotes

Yeah already done that, hence why i'm looking at getting a dingo in, plus i'll get to have some fun...

All quotes so far are around $80/h min 4 hours. I can get the dingo for $250 for 24 hours. None of the bobcats have rotary hoes, they'd just use a tyne attachment, which would be pretty chunky and i'd probably have to get a rotary hoe later and do it again by hand.

the dingos are quite good for what your needing and they work fine for small backyard work..

me and my old boy use them frequently in tight spaces to move earth and it works a treat..

Cool, soil is fairly clayish, so more worried about how well it will rotary hoe. And it's about 1/4 acre or so of rotary hoeing.
