you'll have to deregister it if you want to sell it without a safety certificate.
if you want to sell it registered you have to by law get a safety certificate before you advertise it for sale.
the certificate has to be displayed on the car as well
Hi Guys,
I've been working here in QLD for the last six months on a contract for our company in NZ. We purchased a couple of cars over here to get to and from site, and now its my job to flick them off before i can go home...
The change of ownership over here is a bit different to NZ with regards to the roadworthy inspections (in NZ we have a similar thing, but we have to get it done every 6 months, rather than only when selling a vehicle).
I've had one of our cars inspected, and there's probably about $600 worth of work that needs to be done before the car gets a roadworthy safety cert (which i dont really want to deal with for a car i'm only trying to sell for $2.5k).
My question is, can i sell the car as is, and leave it up to the new owner to make the car roadworthy? We are able to do this back home, but i've heard different things from different people here. Some said the car needs to be de-registered in order to sell as is, where is....
Car is registered in QLD.
Thanks in advance

As gopher said; you should not have any trouble selling it unregistered. What sort of cars are they?
Cool thanks guys.
