Fined In NSW for air intake modification... help needed

hey guys I received a fine on the way up to sydney for my OTRCAI the fine is $84, (use vehicle not comply with standard) pulled over by highway patrol just out of tarcutta.

Now what i want to know is there anyway I can get out of paying this fine as far as I'm aware this modification is allowed in Victoria where the car is registered.

any help appreciated

If you dont intend to return to NSW then dont worry about it, they cant make you pay if you live in VIC. If you intend to return to NSW pay the fine and get the defect cleared or the cops will give you another fine for driving a defected vehicle next time you cross the boarder.

did they write out a ticket or did he say he would send it in the mail? either way defect or not you dont have to pay the fine if you dont intend to return to NSW, if your comin back then just pay it to avoid a biger one in the future

Unless you can provide some sort of documentation or other evidence to support your 'theory', then you should not offer advice.

To the original poster, it's an $84 fine. You got busted with an illegal modification. Just pay it.

OTR is not legal in Victoria if it doesnt have the MAF installed inline still (99% dont).
You might want to check out the whole 'i dont live in this state so im not paying the ticket' thing as well before you decide not to pay it.

All i asked for was advice, Not a lecture. I wasn't going to just ignore the fine as having a black mark against my name for $84 not something i want. But thanks for clearing it up about the otr i didnt know.

Mate i would check out the rules in VIC and if it is legal there i would question the fine as if your car complies to the laws in one state it should not effect you in another.
i would look into it seriously as if it complies to Vic they should not be able to give a ticket for a car regoed in another state.

any vehicle has to comply to the regestered states laws not another or we would all be stuffed going to another state.
