hey guys im planning on buying an generator to go in the trailer project i am building, so im wondering has anyone here bought one of those 'fake honda' 2.5kva gensets?

obviously for the price they go for, you cant expect much, but i believe these are the same as the $300 aldi ones too?

any feedback? there feedback on ebay isnt that bad for the amount they have sold..... so they cant be that bad?? lol

on the other side through work i can get (i think) gentech 2.5kva for $750

they have a honda motor which is good just a chinese generator which a lot of the brand names have anyway so if your not using it all the time like for work or something i can't see why not

Im pretty sure they are the exact same as a honda motor but just made from cheaper materials.

yeah they are these things, just that ones re-sprayed red and had a honda badge 'riveted' to it rather than the honda sticker they normally have

My Dad has a Scorpion one, basically the same thing, honda copy, and it goes great, very quiet and runs pretty much everything.

I used to have a Scorpion and couldn't fault it. It was cheap and reliable and the only reason I sold it (for 100 bucks) was because I needed a bigger one for my tools.

Man my mates all buy generators from ALDI, they got them 9 months ago, never had a problem. We have run them all night on long camping trips, never had a problem. No doubt the one you are looking at would be better quality than ones from ALDI lol.

But The ALDI generators only cost like $150 at the time, so if they break or stuff up, it's no big deal.
