Hey guys.. Not asking for sympathy/ flaming...Just someone who knows the facts.

Does anyone know the actual laws regarding getting done DUI for P Platers in QLD??

Blew .049 ...obviously p platers have to be 0..Was wanting to get a work license but ive heard from some/ others that if youre on youre p's you may not be able to get a work license..also heard that you can...anyone actually know?? Cheers

Unlike many other tools here who post this guy knew he was a ****head for what he did(even though you can legally be that limit, not sure why P Platers cant be .05 also, its not like that effects most people, that said, limits should be tested yearly as some people at .05 are worse than some people at .1), dont think anyone else has to say it. Most people get jumped when they claim something happened that wasnt their fault...much like the VY thread a few days back.

work licence is upto the judge at the time. what mood he is in, but i guess realisticaly, you should have known better, so dont be suprised if you dont get your work permit.

Ring the authorities in your state and find the facts.

pretty sure they will go through you like a bad curry. you're the enemy already being a p-plater, then you threw fuel on the fire by getting caught DUI. in short i would think you're stuffed

It will probably depend on the judge, and the circumstances around you getting done - were you driving home from the pub like a dick, driving home after a glass of wine with lunch like a dick, driving the morning after like a dick, and so on.

I think one important question is what job do you have. If your job is working at your local retail store and getting a bus just makes your journey longer than your stuffed. If you job is driving around in one of those 'Smart' cars with less kilowatts then my pinky with a shitty billboard advertising erectile dysfunction then magistrate may deem that punisment enough. Still don't like your chances though.

You would also have to have no other way of getting to work to have the slightest chance. If you lived an hour from your nearest town you would probably have a good shot, but if you are 5 mins from a train station then you might as well get yourself a ticket tomorrow
