whats with these damn automatic bids?
how am i supposed to buy stuff if i get outbidded on shit IMMEDIATELY after i bid, annoooooooying.
and no i dont want to get into bidding wars n shit, i just want to buy shit there n then cheap lol
That's how ebay works.
You set your maximum bid and ebay automatically increases it for you when your current bid is beaten until it reaches your maximum bid total.
Another thing is people wait till the dying seconds and then bid. Not giving the other bidders time to increase their maximum bid if they REALLY are keen on the item.
I'm guilty of doing this.
Its just the way ebay works, remember ebay is not the be all and end all. ppl forget yellowpages and the trading post.
last minute bidding happens all the time, go the buy now if u have the coin.
suck it up?
if u can't beat them join them! google free ebay sniper![]()
lol thats nasty.. Buy it now FTW's.. If i ever buy stuff on ebay, I always go buy it now.. never been able to win anything from bidding.
Somebody is obviously willing to pay more for an item than you are... sounds exactly like an auction.
Put some concrete in your coffee.
I generally always do Buy it now, and when putting the item up for sale I rarely start it on a low price because it always gets picked off last minute at that stupidly low price.
I always bid in the last 30seconds.
The other day I was watching an item, RRP like $600.. and 30mins before auction end it was still on $80. So i waited untill 30seconds remained, excited about my new hat, and BAM about 12 people bid around the same time and it went up to $300 haha, it was hilarious lol.
As far as sniping services go, you could give Free eBay sniper. eBay auction sniping made easy. An eBay bid sniper - Home a try.
Just keep in mind that you still have to have the highest bid to win, regardless of when it is placed - except when 2 bids are the same or there isn't enough difference between them to meet ebay's minimum bid increment, in this case, the 1st bid in wins.
Bidders often think they've been outsniped when really it was just ebay's proxy bidding system raising the current high bidder's bid to meet or exceed their's.
Anyone that bids on ebay should be aware of the bid increments and proxy bidding.
As mentioned above, you may have a shot at getting goods deals with 'buy it now' listed items, but you'd probably have to be quick to learn about newly listed items that you're interested in.
You can save searches on ebay and they'll send an email to you once a day if an item is listed matching your criteria. A site like ebuyersedge will check as often as every 5 minutes and email you if an item is listed on ebay matching your saved search(es), so you'd get a jump on people using ebay itself for the same thing.
