Both our cars have personalised plates, which the new SV6 has the wife's plates attached. Hers lists her birth year, which is 86. We have both noticed that since driving the car around with her plates on, that so many other drivers tend to sit right up my a$$; try and overtake stupidly, and are generally much more abusive/agressive for some unknown reason. I never have any issues when I drive my car with my plates, which don't list any numbers (all letters).
So... my initial assumtion is that its all to do with displaying your age on the car??? I think this also goes for P platers, L platers and Fords![]()
Anyone else noticed this?
I can't say I have ever noticed this............
people usualy get like that when you do something.
happens to me every day maybe because im a P plater and drive a VR commodore people assume i wanna race everyone and drag off at the lights and do mad single peggers round corners. so people get all dissapointed when i drive sensiblydrivers tend to sit right up my a$$; try and overtake stupidly, and are generally much more abusive/agressive for some unknown reason.

apparently wasting my time with 97 cubic inches
milk doesnt come in 1.6 litres
my geminis
older the car you drive the more crap you get on the road
plus displaying p plates or certain types of custom plates add to it
plus the smaller the car you drive the more shit you get
not to mention you are more likly to get pinged doing 10-20k's over the speed limit in a hot loud v8 than a clean family hack
have tested all these theorys multiple times
I thought that same thing when the wife started noticing it. I kept asking her why they were doing it, but there was no real reason. But, it wasn't until I started driving her car more frequently that I can honestly say that I also do notice it as well when I drive around in the new car.
my young (23) brother finds the same thing happens when he drives my 02 statesman, which is on personal plates, but mainly people want to drag
I got custom plates on my thumpstar and when im cruising at 90kmph i get lots of people hanging out their windows laughing and giving the thumbs up

2 hole mod and Cat Back exhaust
hahah that bikes awesome
there is a car that comes into were i work for long term valet parking and he has normal plates and its got WTF-*** (dont know the numbers)
i'd say its because of the age, when ever i see plates that say the years 87-91 i speed up, hopefully theres some young babe in the car...often its fail.
Personalized plates, P plates, Exhausts and anything else that attracts attention will give you more grief with other drivers and the police.

how is it on juice, think i might buy one lol
I have personalised plates and have noticed that other cars speed up, have a look in, but dont generally sit up my backside unless they want to race, etc.
I dont speed up to look in because of the number plates, i do it to hot commodores i see just in case the driver happens to be a hottie. Hate it when women are driving them.... lol.... so then i justand keep drivin!
Loving my SV6
