Trying to find out scrap metal price

im after a helping hand or guide,
would anyone know a site which would be able to tell me the current scrap metal price per kilo

trying to get a ruff idea what to expect when i scrap a shell of a car,

ive tryed searching on google but no luck

I work for an E-waste company here in Brisbane and we send our metal to Sims metal, no one adversities the price online because it tends to change daily depending on what company you go to. give this number a call they will be able to help you out +61 8 8341 1383

oh the number is Sims in SA

$105 per tonne for steel.
$130 per tonne cast iron
$2800 per tonne copper

as 25-8-2009 simms metal.

you may have to phone around to get a price as it varies from dealer to dealer.

your shell $90~$120.

Last week my dad rang around for scrap steel.

he was quoted $200 a tonne for steel 4 mm thick or thicker and $150 for steel 4mm or less

the resellers get $400 a tonne. (simms, one steel, higgins, viola)

so ask around they can compromise.

NB: i think the limit is around $1000 before they will ask for a ABN. if you become a regular seller.

if he's got a door that 50cmx20cmx4mm, tell him to turn it around so it's 50cm thick, but 4mm long
