    This was supposed to be my fathers day:

    * Lunch with the folks.
    * Sit down with the old man, drink some beer and watch St kilda woop Collingwood ass.

    Instead, I've gotta work a 9 hour shift. Another dude has pulled a sickie, and conveniently no body else can cover his shift be me.

    Hopefully I can start early, finish early and see the 2nd half of the match.

    Back on topic... I've had a fantastic fathers day thanks! Huge lunch with the family that also doubled as a going away lunch for my grandfather who flies out to Italy tomorrow for a couple of months. Happy Fathers Day to all you other dad's too

    I got a bad dose of food poisoning Saturday night (Thanks Eagle Boys Pizza) Needless to say I have spent the last 24 hours either in bed, sitting on the toilet or my head down the toilet. Great second Fathers day for me.
    Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

    Ahh ye poor bugger:-
    Teen killed in horror Bonnells Bay smash - Local News - News - General - The Herald

    Young man in this story, an L plater alone and likely DUI - died on fathers day! In turn, he lost his dad a few short years ago when he was crushed under his car whilst doing an oil change. Surviving family; a mum n younger brother left to deal with all this.

    Now, the family that own the property where the young fella crashed and died, suffered loss of their own; 3yo grandson caught the flu and passed, granddad couldn't revive the poor lil fella.

    Kinda puts our 'bad' days in perspective don't you reckon?? Hope you get better anyhow.
    Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. If only that poor L plater had a safety triangle in his car, he probably wouldnt have died.

    Did you message/call your ex to ask if you could spend some time with your daughter on fathers day? If not then it's your own fault. Don't expect your ex to do anything for you. My parenting plan has in it that if fathers day falls on a weekend that I don't have my kids, I pick them up at 9am on fathers day and have them for the whole day. Likewise with mothers day, if it falls on my weekend with the kids I return them to their mother at 10am that morning.
    Things to think about when doing a parenting plan.
