The RB26DETT really makes about 230/240KW, Nissan lied about the power output - as did most other manufacturers - so their cars would have an unfair advantage in stock vs stock races where there was a gentlemans agreement to limit power to around 280hp.

On the money. Although it was all to do with Racing not an agreement. There was nothing formal about it.

    2 words. ENGINE CONVERSION!

which engine you choose comes down solely to your budget/needs/wants etc
VN-VR style V6's are popular and relatively straight forward conversion, but there are much better/more powerful/more economic engines out there

this is just one man's opinion

That's the whole idea of a "gentleman's agreement"

um. much easier to whack a 308 into the tonner then it is to go any where near an Rb26DETT. They're fickle, expensive and just love to go wrong.
When they're good they're great and when they're broke they're really farking broke.

2JZGTE all the way if you really want to go to a Jap six.
3ltr inline 6, twin turbo as standard. Easy to conver to single (Very worth it).

But yeah, 308 with mods much easier and nets similar results :P

i had an r33 with simple mods (fmic, turbo back exhuast, boost, ecu, clutch etc.) was a pretty quick car. had no trouble against v8s.
