Just wondering if there are any campers out there that can give me a few pointers. Me and some mates from Tafe are just wanting to pack the cars up and head into the bush (obviously accesible by the Vr lol) for a weekend in October. Dont want to really do the whole National Parks thing with toilets and bbq facilities, much prefer to be out in the wilderness with no one around to just chill and have a good time.
If anyone knows of some cool spots, can be north or south of Sydney, but not further than 3 hours away, would be great if you could help. Wouldn't mind it being near a river or beach so we could fish aswell![]()
Was this the one down south a couple of months ago?
Are fires permitted, obviously well contained, I don't plan on burning down the bush!
Ohk, so now I wait for Andy's input lol.
If your only willing to travel around 3hrs from sydney, you aren't going to find too many good legal camping spots that don't have basic ammenities, even if it is just a toilet.

I'd be stretching the travel times a little bit and heading down the coast to Jervis Bay/Batemans Bay or the likes. You might even get there in the time you want, I can't quite remember as its been years since I went there.
Seems you have misread my first post..I don't want to do the National Parks thing, if I did, I could easily just head up the F3 or whatever, and it would be only 20mins away from home. I don't want toilets or showers, basically just don't want to be bothered by rangers or anything.
Have you been to Forster ? there's a campsite somewhere near Elizabeth beach so its good for fishing... might not be as remote as you want tho. And if you are talking about the long weekend watch the traffic.
Wow, Forster brings back some memories. Always used to go cause dad used to do the ironmans back in the early 90's..We originally planned for the long weekend, but I have Parklifeand yeah long weekend, so big no no lol.
