as far as i know legal aid works on how much you earn so they charge you according.

to get legal aid you have to be facing a prison sentence or costs of more than $6000 in court the be represented. what did u get done for??

This stuff is usually means tested, and given you're in high school I assume you don't earn much, so hopefully you'll qualify. If not they will be able to put you in touch with solicitors in your area who specialise in traffic law.

i bet the judge hears that every five minutes... what sort of hooning? if you were excessively speeding or burnouts etc. and "endangering" other peoples lives you will prob get hammered as they tend' to be really strict on young "inexperienced" drivers.

i wasnt hooning at all mate, been falsely accused! few boys at my school hung their cars outsideways coming out of an aquatics centre driveway, leaving me driving like a nonno out of their only to have my plates taken down and also to get the blame for it all..

i remeber i got in trouble for the same thing when i was at skool, dw mate its only a scare tatic...

you'll get a warning... from my experience cause the copper said ... because there was no evidence besides word...and he never whitnessed it...thats all he could do...

take the warning and learn from it...

If only thats how the law worked...if Police can gather enough witnesses they can charge him all they like.

By your theory, you can murder someone and get away with it providing police do not see you... lol

How am I doing that?

Fact is, ALL CRIMES are dealt the same way, whether witness by police or not, if there were witnesses who are willing to make statements then the police can charge him. It is up to him to prove it wasnt him.

Oh as for evidence, various people reporting him for doing it for a start...

well im going off my experience with the police in the same situation, and thats what happened with me... but the copper did warn if he had of whitnessed it he woulda ripped me outta the car and ran my face into the foot path and throw me in the back of the paddy wagon and made sure i never saw my car again... cranky prick

all he has to do is go in there and explain that it wasn't him and prove it, it may be getting a lil late for that but everything is still in his favour... cause he is actually innocent... he'll be right... he'll only get a warning

Like minux said, the police don't have to witness it.

Driving back from Victor Harbour one day some tool decided he needed to get home before everyone else, and overtook about 5 cars on double crossed lines (all 5 of the cars were doing the speedlimit, so its not like he was getting held up). I rang and made a report, and so did another of the 5 cars (going by the operator saying they just had a report for the same offence for that person) and he was issued a fine. Clearly he payed it, because i havn't been required to go to court as a witness.

i would go in and plead my innocence but the fact is im not 100% that the school/aquatics centre people have even reported me!

they told me that i had been reported on hoon watch or some other hooning report. but im not quite sure whether its true or not. my dep. principal didnt say it was me but said i need to be careful out on the road bla bla blaa. so maybe its the end of it. i just really hope so!
