My housemate drives a little VW polo, about 95ish model, and she has had problems with getting a VERY wet back seat & boot after a heavy rain. We have all had a look (including taking off bits of trim) and can't find where it is coming in from.
She has had 2 mechanics take a look as well and noone can find anything.
Who would be best to take it into for a good look? I was thinking maybe an interior place would have a good idea but maybe you guys would have some clues as well.
Just before I found the aerial on the roof has a cracked/broken mount that I guess could leak into the roof but won't be able to check that out properly for a few days and if that isn't it then its off to whatever pro can fix it once and for all.
We live in Oakleigh so if anyone can recommend places in SE Melb that would be a massive help. I'm sure sick of cleaning mouldy shit off seats

drive it into a river with windows up and see where the water flows in at lol sorry mate not much help
shhh now PUPPET
Top of the door rubbers.
well as the post above said door rubbers check the back window to see if its sealed properly otherwise water can leak from there and if the aerial has cracked then it could be leaking from there through the roof and coming out somewhere near the back
best way to check is get someone in the car and someone with a pressure gun and squirt where you think its leaking from
Well I took it to the carwash last night and gave it a good squirt into every crack/crevice that I could find and naturally when I got home the interior was bone dry, so I'll have to have another look next time it rains.
I thought door/boot seals at 1st as well but as far as I can tell they are a little worn but not letting anything in. Parts on this stupid little thing are far too expensive to go replacing things without knowing for sure it'll fix the problem. I'm talking double what you would think are expensive commodore parts, then add some more for good measure.
I'll try to get up into the roof and see if the aerial could be the problem, but I've spent so long going over her car that I'm ready to handball and make it someone elses problem.
Well either that or try Skrubas river idea.

Take it through a touchless car wash.
I rekon they use more water pressure than the others.
You should be able to find the leak quite easily. You just wont be able to stop it until the wash cycle is over though! LOL
Maybe it is like my wifes Hyudai , the boot leaked behind the tail light and would flood in through the back seat and wet the carpet . How about looking in a VW forum , you might find that it could be a common problem with that model.
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
Dont all VW's leak?..........& targa top Porsches?
Atleast in the Porsche you might be able to out run the rain! LOL
