Default The world has gone orange!

I've not long been awake and getting ready for work. I took a look outside and the sky is orange and there's a wierd smell in the air. Is it the end of the world or just dust being blown from inland?

I'll try and get a photo up now....... here you go

End of the world for sure, only problem is the sky is lovely and normal in Victoria, last year overnight we had a dust storm from the inland, I woke up and it looked like my car had been a rally across the outback overnight without me

    oh yeh!!

I left the window opened a crack last night to try and let my bedroom cool down, what a mistake that was.

As for the winds, well I'll upload photos tonight but I have a temporary carport over the project ute to keep any water out of the inside until I can put the rubber seals back on.

I used decent tie downs attached around the frame and to the ute itself to keep it on the ground ... well I just checked, the frame has bent and in some areas torn apart. I can see where its tried to lift off with force but the tie downs have kept it down, the result - the frame bending around the tie downs!!

That's all blown in from the centre. Broken Hill was in a black-out all day yesterday. The dust storm was so bad they lost all power, and couldn't see more than a metre away! Total pitch darkness! So you'd be getting the tail end of that

Of course this would happen the day after I broke my nose, plus I have hayfever!

Driving to Sydney from the Central Coast wasn't too bad, it was pretty much the same as driving in light fog, except, for the entire trip. Then getting to work and thinking they'd installed new fluorescent lights in all the rooms because of how blue inside looks!

The sign in the distance says "Poor Visibility. Reduce speed". It seemed a little redundant considering we were all stopping and starting . That's North Ryde at about 7:50am.

I sleep with the curtains open because I like getting woken up by natural light rather than an alarm. This morning I opened my eyes, saw everything was red (and it was RED, the pictures really don't do it justice), figured it was some kind of 28 Days Later type situation, said "**** not again..." and went back to bed.

Sometimes that's the best way to deal with things I think

I just heard this on TripleM, thought they were talking about Melbourne. They had a bloke on the phone so they must have been talking to someone in Sydney.
