Police chase ended by road spikes

A woman is to face court today after a police car chase at Port Stephens, north of Newcastle.

Police say the woman continually flashed her car's headlights at Salamander Bay last night and when officers tried to pull the car over she refused to stop.

About half-an-hour a later, police spotted the car again -- and when the driver refused to stop for a second time a chase began.

During the chase, police used road spikes which caused three tyres on the woman's car to burst -- but she did not stop until she got to a nearby home.

Police say the woman then threatened officers and refused to get out of the car.

They smashed one of the car's windows to arrest her.

The woman has been charged several offences including dangerous and negligent driving, failing to have a breath-test, and resisting police.

She is expected to face Raymond Terrace Local Court later today.

The lady got about two years suspension I believe (heard it on the news can't find an online article on it).

I think its disgusting that she EVER gets her licence back, clearly she doesn't deserve it! but
put a male under 25 and there would have been a suspended jail sentence....

I don't know about that hey. I know a young male p plater <25 that got into a chase, he got the same punishment, 2 year licence suspension and he had a shocking record.

I guess I only really hear the media "hoon" tales (with higher punishment) but same applies, no way they deserve their license back when they clearly don't deserve it!

Reading that reminds me of a video on the news a few years ago, of how the russians arrest someone who wont come outta their car....one guy smashes the front windscreen with some sort of large hammer, then another crazy ruski lunges through the front window head first haha.
