Default Man accidently shoots fiancee. what a **** wit

    ......................
A man mistook his fiancée for an intruder and shot her dead the day before their wedding.

Many US households keep firearms in case of an intruder, which can result in tragedy.

John Tabutt told police he seized his gun because he thought he heard someone in his Florida home.

Thinking it was his live-in partner was in bed, the 62-year-old fired at a figure in a dark hallway.

He discovered too late he struck Nancy Dinsmore, also 62, who he was due to marry the very next day.

Tabutt called 911 in the early hours of Friday, moaning and sobbing, according to local newspaper reports.

'I thought I had an intruder in the house,' he told the emergency operator. 'Honest to God, she looks dead.'

A 'distraught' Tabutt stood by while his fiancée was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, according to police.

He has not been charged with any offence and officers said everything pointed to a tragic accident.

The couple planned to wed in a small ceremony at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Florida's Winter Springs, Ms Dinsmore's son-in-law Scott Sposato told the Orlando Sentinel.

'They loved each other,' he said. 'It was quite apparent.'

You must be naive if you believe that. There is no guarantee that such a thing couldn't happen in Australia.

I have to agree with Fuzzy, what a ****wit. Doesnt matter what you think it is, when shooting a gun you identify your target before firing. Obviously its a bit different as this guy was shooting to kill a human, but seriously you dont just open fire on anything, real extreme level of Karma though.
I know people who have shot there own dog caus they thought it was a fox, again they are ****wits for not identifying what they are shooting.

Its not the gun's fault, its the clown who pulled the trigger first and asked questions later.

LOL, Americans don't get 'widow's pensions'... Although if we did, this would probably lower our divorce rate!

I know how to get my hands on illegal firearms. Many dodgy sorts know how to get their hands on illegal firearms, wouldn't that make your point completely invalid?

Kinda like that American guy who came to Australia, married a chick, made her get life insurance. Then she had an unfortunate diving accident in which a witness saw him fiddling with her oxygen tank. Welcome to the site by the way.

Um, you can over here! You can stab them with a knife if you wanted to. As long as you only do it once! You were startled by the intruder and took that action.

If you stab or shoot or whatever that is designed to kill them more than once though that's classed as pre-emptive then.

Also, make sure that one stab/shot/punch kills them, if it doesn't then your up for a lot of costs for keeping them alive and re-imbursement.

In other news, if a thief cuts himself while entering your property they can sue you too! It's a a great country we live in lol But then again you can counter sue for breaking and entering.

Under queensland trepass laws, you can use any force (as well as anyone assisting you) upto but not including grievous bodily harm to remove that person/s from your property.... provided of course you tell them to **** off first

Depends if they are part of the armed forces or not, and whether or not they are on a task. Usually the government will cover if anything happens to an armed forces personell if anything happens to them if they are on a task or following orders.
