Anyone know of a good insurance company?
My gf was with AAMI 3rd party fire & theft, but after dealing with their claims department she has found herself wanting to change. (It felt as though she was not only fighting the other party's insurance company, but her own as well)
Looking for a company who will insure her for 3rd party fire and theft with a lowered car and 1 partially at fault accident.
I've always found GIO and Allianz to be pretty good and well priced.
Hi
I'm the gf.
Allianz won't insure me as my car is lowered and GIO want $4000 for full comp and I can't seem to get a quote off them for 3rd party..
Shannons or Just car is AAMI's second company for modified cars. Insure the car first and then tell them a couple of weeks later you lowered it. They usually say they have noted it down but don't (sometimes) put the premium up at all.
Not many companies will check things like lowering in a claim, I've never told insurance about lowering, tinted windows or exhaust and have not had a problem with a few claims I have made.
I've heard JustCar is really bad when it comes to claims... but I guess they can't be any worse than AAMI...
I'm paying $460 with AAMI at the moment for 3rd party f+t and JustCar want $361 which includes me having the accident, having a lowered car, HID lights, and sound system... which seems to be pretty good.
Shannons won't insure me as I'm under 25..
$361 sounds like a fair quote, I always go by the 10% rule. I got the VZ for around $10000 so anything up to $1000 I'll pay. The VH is realistically worth around $4000 so I'm happy with the $370 F&T. I go through a broker so I'm pretty sure it just changed to QBE or GIO from Zurich. I haven't even heard of half of them but the brokers been on the money with everything I've insured with him.
I wouldn't pay $1500 or something stupid for the VH unless it was heavily modified and was a high agreed value.
Thats the same reason I wouldn't get full comp. No point paying more than what I paid for the car for the insurance :P
True, some people pay for the car every 2 or 3 years with the insurance premiums they pay. When I first got my license, I was going to get one of those Cordia Turbo's for $5000, the insurance was $6000. Go figure. Needless to say I didn't go for it.
I paid $1500 for my VR... I can't justify paying the $4000 GIO want for full comp lol.
LOL, that's gold, go for the extended third party F&T. At least you are covered if you hit another car or if it gets knocked off. With that purchase price you are already in front.
JustCar seem pretty good.. but if I ever have to make a claim again I don't want it to go down the way it did with AAMI.. I ended up fighting with my OWN insurance company on the phone lol.
aami own justcar dont they?
im with just car as no one else would insure me for bags etc. and mine is about $2300 a year lol but im 19 and on green p's and the car is only insured for $10000 with an excess of $1500.
