Apparently its a fake.
Good Old Macca's - McDonald's Australia "Leave Out Items" Memo Hoax
Sounds exactly like the sort of thing they'd do though.
They do leave stuff out ALL the time (maybe 3 out of 5 orders) I work in Cafe and have a different coloured shirt so peoplecome back in assuming I'm a manager and I cop the bullshit from it.... Useless!
It depends. Because everything is made to order now, if something gets left out, it usually gets wasted because it becomes extra food that can't be used. I also doubt that senior executives would refer to staff simply as "girls".
If one burger was missing from every third order, every Maccas would go out of business because of the furor caused. On top of that, if this was actually true, it would be pretty well known, as most of the people that work there are teenagers that like to talk a lot.
I did like this bit too -
"And, finally, it is also extremely hard to believe that any individual that is astute enough to make it to the position of managing director would be so amazingly stupid as to actually document a scheme to deliberately defraud customers thereby risking serious legal and career repercussions when the scheme was inevitable revealed."
Checking your order before you drive off is the smart thing to do regardless.
Like goVZ said - fake. You just need to read the language used in the letter to know that.
Reaper
hmm it's on their letterhead and has *a* signature so it must be real. i'm going to write a letter and put it on Holden's letterhead giving me a free HSV and call it real too![]()
LOL maccas are useless, went there with my dad once, on the way back from the springnats, so they were packed. went through the drive through, got food, went and found a spot to park and he yelled " F***!!!!!!" they forgot his burger. so he goes back and says, "u didnt put in my burger! McF***sake." (in a nice voice)
the girl laughed and said "McSorry"
as i finished writing that i realised its pretty irrelevant, but i think its funnyhaha.
Obvious hoax....
Would maccas, one of the biggest and most successful companies ever destroy their reputation for the sake of a few thousand dollars?

Check that out, on the letter the Managing Director/Proprietor is Robert Trugabe (a play on Robert Mugabe perhaps?), and he is writing to a Malcolm and mentions Derek.
Have a look at the above link and you'll see that the Managing Director is Catriona Noble, the name Derek does not appear and the only Malcolm in the mcdonalds hierarchy is the CEO of the RMHC...
lol, fake or not, macca's still fail.
Smashed on hoax-slayer. Would go well in the jokes section though...
We still get this crap circulated through work by well-meaning office staff. Always worth checking the hoax sites. Though i guess sucking people in is what the internet is for....
Haven't you ever tried that before. When I was in school, after tennis training (before school, but the courts we used where about 5 minutes drive away, coach used school minibus) we would go to the coach and say crap like, "Can we grab so McBreakfast on the way back", "Jeez I'm McHungry", crap like that. Usually worked too.

there is no way that's real. no one with enough brains to make MD of a big company could be stupid enough to put such a thing in writing, or for that matter even try it on at all. dealing the complaints would cost them way more than saving a few cents on fries.
