depending on the circumstances they may come to your house and have a chat to you or u may just get a summons in the mail like u said ill give u a hot tip but go park your mums car in the drive in case they decided they want to impound it they cant impound a vehicle thats on ur property

Every situation is different, some cops take it in to their discretion, but others feel like P platers need to the full blown treatment, court/fines/loss of license/etc.
I was pulled over by an undercover cop because I maintained my speed whilst going around a corner, rather than slowing down, not illegal but still pulled me over and gave me the chat about how I should be more careful, etc, I am a P plater too, gotta love the special treatment.

Firstly, I hope you lose your license (i know lol) - its not a laughing matter.. You're clearly in the wrong, in your mums car, and not displaying p plates. He definately will look you up at the station, and distinct chance you'll have a court hearing, and lose your license.

you posted the thread. dont get nippy when someone posts something you dont like.

not displaying p plates: 3 points + possibly fine
20kph over speed limit: 3 points + fine
not carrying licence under 25yo(assuming since you're on ps and in mummys car): fine

would be nice if you get stung for all of these, if not some, but you might be lucky, and wont see anything.

buy some lube though, to be prepared for the possible reaming.

Im unsure if that reference was to me or not - i'll openly admit, I've been a fair ******** on the roads, and I've been in front of a magistrate and suffered the consequences, you live and learn.

I could be wrong, and may be - but judging from the episode of Melbourne Highway Patrol shown on TV recently, I don't think they can.. All I remember is the officer saying soemthing along the lines of the.... 'suspect'? being lucky the car in mention was not on the road, otherwise it would be impounded. They may need a warrant to sieze vehicle on private property.

In reference to the OP no the inpound doesnt relate to you so dont worry.
One of two things will happen.
    1.summons.

    2.nothing.
Hope number 2 is for you.
Nothing you can do but sit and wait as its all in the hands of the cop.

They would need a court order to do so,not hard for them to get.

Yep, as Ado said the police can remove a vehicle even if it's on your property through a court order.

Having said that, for the car to be impounded under hooning laws you need he would need to have been speeding 45kmph over the limit.

As people have said, get ready with a nice bottle of lube.

On the upside, HOPEFULLY you've just learnt your lesson on speeding without having killed anyone.

Just hope your system is different to SA's. Not carrying your license while on your P's = breach of P conditions, and auto loss of license....(along with a fine)

been sent fines in the mail before. been pulled over cop said same thing he will look me up once he get to station. 2 days later fine in the mail. i would say thats what will happen but since your on your P's im thinking you will loose licence as you will not have enough demerit points to cover all the fines he will send you

Well, if you're going to get caught, you might as well make a good job of it.

    P plater.

    Offence 1 - speeding
    Offence 2 - No P plates
    Offence 3 - no license.

Pretty good effort for one day. Does that reflect your general approach to the traffic laws in your state?

Chances are the officer didn't know what to write the fine out as. This happens a lot when unusual circumstances are involved. I.e: Interstate licences/rego etc. But can happen under normal circumstances too. Remember, there a plenty of laws and infringements etc. for them to remember, and a lot of cops hate traffic and have no idea when it comes to that sorta thing. They are only human after all. lol

He'll probably go back to the station, chat to his collegues, get some more infor and maybe even speak the TOG, work out what best to charge you with and send you the fines in the post.

Not saying this is definately what will happen, but it's likely.

The fines will be coming buddy. I will be very shocked if they don't after how much revenue the cop can get off 1 person. As others have said, have fun with Connex. Its happened to me once before and I have learn't my lesson from it.
