Default anyone know anything about guitar amps?

iv had a peavey amp sitting in my room for quite some time now. havnt played in over a year, i recently noticed that a wire round the backs broken, its like, two black wires that connect to a little flat bit, then 2 orangish wires, one of the orange ones broken, if that doesnt explain it enough can post pics, any idea how much to fix, if possible?

Well how much was the amp when you first bought it? Otherwise it comes down to it will cost more to fix then it's worth. IF it was me i'd buy another one. Maybe one of Steve Vai signature models

You can't just solder together the broken wires? Maybe post a pic

Is the wire itself is actually broken or has the solder joint on the end just broken? Either I'd just take it a tech and get them to fix it, it shouldn't cost that much to replace the wire.

Like already has been said; just solder it up again then slip a small piece of heat shrink over it and no one would know the difference

yeah post up a pic, then we could be of assistance. depending on the model, it might be better for you to do the work, or get an amp guy to look at it.

i dont mind peavey gear, wouldnt mind buying some front of house speakers from them.

what model esp are you looking at? the esp models are really nicely finished off, but that being said, so are the gibson explorers.

what sort of stuff do you play?

Not to sure which ESP i will be going for atm, something like this would be awsome!!!!

The ESP Guitar Company :: ESP Standard Guitars - FX

however they are abit pricey, im under the assumption you dont need a 2k guitar to make good music, and you dont, but its nice to have good gear.

Somewhat of a metal man, metallica, acdc, gunners etc. but also like playing stuff like vai, buckethead etc, like the nice melodic solo sort of stuff, depends on what mood im in and how baked i am really haha, i prefer the tones of the gibsons/ephiphones, nice clean all round rock tones, however i have played my mates randy rhoads signature jackson, that thing is a nice guitar, but for over 2k worth it should be.

I been playing guitar since about 2002, haven't had much time to pick it up in the last 6 months though. I've got a Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus and Fender Aerodyne Telecaster. Ampwise I have a Marshall JCM 900 2x12" combo.

Bought the Les Paul and the amp while I was still in high school, my part time job was entirely dedicated to funding my music gear

I've run my guitar through an audio interface and played around with it in Logic. I think I was using a plugin 'Amplitube'. Can't remember the specifics as it wasn't my setup.

Failing that you could look at a line6 pod or a behringer v-amp

I'm a bit of a guitar whore myself

    95 Les Paul Standard
    05 Les Paul Studio
    81 Fender Telecaster
    BC Rich Mockingbird

Ovation Elite Standard 6868LX (Stage Acoustic)
Martin D28 1971 (My pride and joy of my acoustics)
Various cheap guitars for different stuff...
    Tanglewood
    Cort Jazz
    Squier Resonator

    JCM800 Re-Issue half stack
Laney Tony Iommi full stack (biggest waste of money, anybody wanna buy it? lol)
Laney TT700 two half stacks... (Great for jammin'

Don't get me started on my stomp boxes.

If asking how I got this stuff? I used to be co-owner of a guitar shop No way in hell would I buy any of these guitars now....what a waste of money!

Also picked up a Epiphone Les Paul Junior for a hack guitar, ripped out the soap bar, jammed in a Seymour Duncan humbucker, replaced the wrap around bridge with a tune-o-matic wrap around and I can't stop playing this thing! No matter what I do to the damn thing it just keeps playing!!!....soooooo Hi Gain as well with the SD pick-up.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
