will let the pictures do the talking, but i will say this
if you must speed, at least drive to the conditions.
pics were taken at work today, and is doing the round of local schools i think(traralgon, vic)
please read the first 2 pics before looking at the rest.

Wow.. Good post troy!
Without being nit-picky, I like how the story boards actually talk like everyday people, without being too professional.
Well that's a big big stack but you can see from the impact just how strong the pillars on the VE are, pity you can't see past them :0. Would have been dead in a VY
wow very lucky to survive that
I personally would probably prefer to be dead
If its got Wheels or Boobs its gonna cost ya money
Poor bloke and poor car.
Yeah, his quality of life is zero.. Rather be in a grave.
ditto, not trying to sound all hard and tough or anything, but imagine being trapped in the shell of a body for the rest of your life, burdening everyone around you, better to be dead and done with it, at least then your family could grieve and move on. for the record i'm not saying we should euthanize him, just that that's how i'd prefer to be given the choice between the two.
That's terible
Really makes u think twice about speeding an what can happen
Seen this parked out there today and was going to come have a look, but had other stuff to do.
Lucky to be alive definitly, but have to agree with Trent. With no quality life he would be a huge burdan (sp?) to his family and friends, if it was me I would much rather just be dead, we live for enjoyment, not for the sake of living.
Think this is the latest police scare tactic, I headed out to the AFP open day last weekend and they had a car wreck there too with the story and pictures of the crash scene etc. This one was combatting drink driving though, and the driver of the lexus was going about 130 while drunk and crashed, the two in the front survived however the guy in the back seat died, so they were saying that this is the car that xxx took his last breath in. As a teenager it actually makes you think.. Its a change from the usual 'dont speed, dont drink drive'...
The stupid thing though is that will be guys out there that drive like idiots and think this will never happen to them!
quite sad, i tend to agree with everyone here..i've already told my family that if i ever become someone who is brain dead, a quadraplegic (sp?) or any kind of vegitative state..cut me up take wat organs you can and be done with it..i'd rather help other people then live to just exist and become a burden on someone else..i seen my grandmother do it for 6 years to long when my grandfather had a huge stroke..
Sticking a Chev badge on any Commodore is like putting a Nissan badge on a VL
EOI....VE SS 18" wheels x4 with 5000k's on new tread, 2 of have very minimal gutter rash (previous owner) otherwise like new send me a pm if interested.
These scare tactics by the government, don't normally have the impact that they want them to have. like Holden Ruels said, people just think that it wont happen to them. I think the main thing that stops people speeding is the knowledge that they could get fined or lose their license.
I saw a similar one down Nepean Hwy last Christmas of a smashed Skyline, had a good impact on me, I'm much more cautious on the roads now
good to see it though, as ive said many times get these wrecks out so people can see, once youve seen a few it plays in your mind.
As mentioned exactly, he now lives in a shell of a body and is a burden on his family (as sad as that is its the truth).
Show them with the blood stains, that really hits home. Yep, thats where his head went through the windscreen, yep that could easily be yours
Waste of a car ... waste of a life.
Makes you take a step back & think ... we had something similar come to school in year 12 and I have to say, it's far more effective than the newspaper & TV ads, at least for me. It's reality, staring you in the face.
I remember seeing the aftermath of something like that for real. Every time I remember it I get goosebumps.
But yeah when you see all the blood then it makes it even worse.

definetly hit me hard, i had a very close mate and his dad die in a new vz ss the day they picked it up from the dealership, were drinking and decided to take it out, hit a tree head on at estimated 140kmh on a country road. now whenever i think about trying to get home a little quicker at night i think about them, slows me down. rather get home late and safe then never and in a box.
I remember Queesland Rail had a campain on about people who accelerate to outrun boom-gates. The had this car that was seriously mangled inside Central Station, with a sign saying, 'this car wasn't hit by a train, if it was it would be even worse.'

now that you have seen that, think about the men and women that cut those people out of the car. Being a CFA volunteer ive seen it several times and I can probabley remember 90% of them so it does take its toll on everyone

Yet more reason why proper driver education should start
at secondary school.
I don't believe scare tactics have much of an affect on people
not already touched by this sort of trauma.
Just look at all the simulated violence and horror young
people are exposed to throughout their formative years.
Stop the hypocrisy!
I'm not afraid.
A great post; it really humanizes the effects of speeding, and or dangerous driving...
Having being involved in a high-speed accident myself (105km in a 100kph zone), I will never forget the anguish my family went though, the pain I went though myself and the effects of the accident which although not "critical" caused a massive ripple effect in my life for months.
