Default How did you choose your/your kids footy team??

I remember when I was about 8 my dad had a petrol station in Essendon and we had the petrol account for the Bombers. I was given signed footballs, shirts and sorts of had no other choice but to follow the Bombers, which I have stuck to.
My boy is now almost 3 and he seems to love watching the footy. Evertime he watches the Bulldogs, he screams and recognises them straight away. Also his godfather and great granfather follow the doggies too, should that be his team and can anyone remember how they chose theirs? What did you guys/girls do with your kids/neices/nephews??

location, I only support the eagles because they represent us, not because I like them

    Im a saints fan.
I only followed them as my dad used to work with Stewart Loewe's(Mt Eliza) dad and met him at a toy shop in Mornington when i was a little tacker, so since then ive followed them and i guess being a Morno Peninsula resident some of the saints palyers grew up and lived around here.

Nathan Burke (Pines Footy club) used to own a sports shop in frankston (going back some years now) Banger Harvey (Seaford) has the one at frankston now (harvery-warne-hamill)

    Spider Everett (Crib Point)

and with the team moving to Seaford/carrum downs in mid 2010 it is great.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.

When the Storm came into the NRL i was only about 7 or something and as a Queenslander you were pretty much forced to follow the Bronco's but I liked the Storm logo and thats how I was drawn to them. Followed them ever since, then I actually moved to Melbourne...

When I was like 5 I had no idea what teams there were, only that a game existed. My uncle then convinced me (don't remember how) that I should follow Carlton. My father, mother and brother however are Essendon. No amount of persuasion (financial or otherwise) has swayed me since (~16 years).

I was a doggies fan until i was about 9, i absolutely hate the crows so when they beat the doggies in the semi- final back in 97 or 98 i decided to jump ship and landed on the bombers.

I chose to be a bomber fan to piss my parents off when I was like 6 or 7, (We're south australian, parents are crows fans). Also Hird was a legend.

I always thought you followed what your parents follow.

That being said, I only follow motorsport.
