    Default Random Pullover's

Last night i was driving along with my girlfriend down logan road (wide as, if it wasnt clost to the cop shop it'd be awesome! ) and we both saw a squad car reverse parked in a driveway - ready to pounce. For once i wasnt even speeding :my:. So all they would of seen was two people in a stock silver camry. They didnt have a radar out though.
We stopped at the lights about 50m up the road then we saw/herd the coppers, a basic silvia was a bit behind me and the cops flashed their lights and made that dredded "blip blip" sound.
Now from what i could see in the rear view mirror, he wouldnt have been speeding much, if at all. And it just really pissed me off how the cops pull anybody with a mint car over just for kicks, it's a bloody waste of everybody's time!!!

Now, if that Silvia was your car and had been stolen 10 minutes ago and the cops pulled them over, would you still class it as a waste of time?

If that Silvia's driver was blind drunk and was about to crash into your car up ahead but the cops stopped the drunk and took him to jail, is that still a waste of time?

    Has my point been made?

Yes, but thats a fair few 'what if's'. My point is more that the cops mainly target the visibly done-up cars, if i had a decent car it'd just piss me off after a while, one of my mates at work averages about 3 on a weekend, even 7 one weekend.

I can't complain about random pullovers...happened to me a few times, got nothing to hide so who cares if it's five minutes out of your life? Bextor is right.

Couple of funny times though...one night we came around a corner at a good clip (but within the speed limit) when I was driving my VK Calais we used to have, blind sweeper so I couldn't see what was coming, and as we rounded the corner, there was a young cop in the middle of the lane with a "stop" sign! I savagely braked, skidding the wheels, and missing the guy by about ten centimeters...I have the image in my mind of his eyes being like saucers with shock!
We stopped and when I got out I started abusing him before I could calm myself down and think "this is a cop"...my wife was just about in shock and nearly in tears thinking we were going to run him down. As he stood there shaking, another older officer came over quickly from the parked van and also started tearing strips off him for "standing in an inappropriate and dangerously stupid position to halt traffic". We were told to just go.

Second, a guy in our town back about 1983 had the quickest thing in town, an XU1 Torana with mega worked 202. He was always getting pulled over and the whole car "measured up" but because he wisely realised that it was a cop magnet, he kept it standard height with wide ROH mags and standard design exhaust, but bigger diameter pipes. The three carbs always had the cops going, but he would just produce photocopied road tests and period photo's and engineers reports...once when it was getting a throrough going over, the cop did something almost out of an urban legend...he slapped his notebook down on the bonnet and yelled "There must be something illegal about this f*#king thing!!!"

The thing I really have a problem with (and apprently so do a lot of cops) is speed camera vans. My policeman nephew dreads his duty time in the back of the van, and when it goes off, he wonders to himself as the car continues to speed off into the distance: "is that a stolen car? Is the guy on drugs? Drunk? Just knocked over a service station down the road? Got fifty kilo's of dope in the boot?" etc... :b:
It totally does away with real policing.

well if we are gonna start the stories...
me and a couple of mates were just cruising around coorparoo, and we saw a cop car, none of had bin drinking (very rare ) so we decided to have some fun and we just started following them.
After a little while that got boring so as the cops turned into a side street, i sped up, turned into the next one, and cut them off at the next intersection. this happened a fair few times, when i saw him parked on the opp. side of the road, we calmly drove past them and to my dismay found out that it was a no-through road, did a u-ey and sure enough, just as we past them...'blip blip'.
They breathalized me...fine, then checked the tires, asked me if i knew anything about some people doing burnouts in the area, (coz thats the reason they were there). It really wasnt me, so i came clean about just following them for a laugh. The worst thing was though, i'd forgotten to take my P license with me :b: , but they didnt do a check on the pc or anything.
So after a slap on the hand i was right to go, happy (and scared s**tless) as larry

    Default random pullovers suck

the other night i was cruising through a round about only doing 50 the speed limit. and there was a cop on my left he was going straight ahead he seen me roll through and then he turned left and followed me ( and yes my car has got a bodykit , rims and all that ) he followed me for about 15 mins just watching me waiting until i stepped out of line . i did everything fine and then i had enough i pulled over and he pulled over behind me and he made up some bs story about a white commie speeding around here. to cut along story short i was rbt and he couldnt get me on anything so he left me alone . i think coppas that do this sort of thing to P platers is harrasment i was fairly annoyed after this and just decided to call it a night there were to many police on tha road ( state of origin night at 11 pm ) tell us what u reckon commodore + bodykit + rims = coppa magnet

I was pulled over just last week. he said i looked at him as if i wanted my license checked. which was weird cause if i ever look at a cop i get pulled over so i make sure i dont. but my car's a completly stock wagon.

Another time i was followed for about 5kms before they finally decided to pull me over. scary, most nerve racking 5km of driving ive done in my life. but i really dont mind if they pull me over. i dont really have nethin better to do. And like it was said before, they dont know if you've just stolen the car or wat.

If a cops been following me for long enough for me to know that he is actually following me, I pull over to the side of the road. He's either going to pull over behind me. Or keep driving. But I can't stand it.

i have been pulled up 100% more times in the done up commy than in my stock camry (almost stock ) however i have only ever been booked/defected when i deserved it, for say speeeding or at a random stop they notice teh lack of rubber. i can live with being harrased over things like that - after all they are safety issues. i do get shitted off when they just pull you over because you have a nice car. (and i must say many of us who spend all this time and money on their cars are going to be better kept and more looked after than the old lady up the road with her old toyota unroadworthy and doesnt know but still doesnt get in any amount of carap for it)

I think certain kind of cars attract cops, they always have and always will. I have no problems with them randomly pulling people over, if they have nothing to hide then theres nothing 4 them to worry about. You complained about cops pulling over mint cars, but come on, a silvia ffs? How is that mint lol? If I was a cop I'd probably be pulling it over and any other 4cyl pos (make that any riced up pos period) I see on the road, the way most the guys mod these things are ridiculous, illegal and even dangerous. So just see it as the cops playing the odds, because chances are they will find defects on these sort of cars.

Everyone whinges and bitches about cops pulling over nice cars and especially if p platers are driving them, well I think that must have something to do with the driver because I have never experienced it. I'm on my p's and drive a very loud, ground scraping modified VT V8 and have never had a prob with them. I drive everyday and see plenty of them around too.

Well when i got my lancer a mate decided that he would like to take it for a bit of a spin and see what it was like, after we had been out for about 15 min with him pushing a little on gravel he settled down and headed back to his house and a few hundred metres before his place a cop car was going the other way and immediately pulled a uey and pulled him over, me and his girlfriend were pissing ourselves laughing cos he usually tries to get pulled over but cant and this time he was driving a stock 91 lancer (before evo wannabe types) and no p plates

another time my fiancee and her mother were driving where they live (small country town) and the local cop was doing a minor rbt and he wasnt sure if she had been drinking which she doesn't cos of diabetes so he just blew in it for her so that she was clear and the right amount of blews would be on his shift

the worst one that ever happened to me is i was driving my stato to the licencing centre to get my mods ok'd (twin 2 1/2 inch exhaust, lowered, 18in rims, paint, tint, kit) after getting the ok and inspection report im on the way home when 5 minutes down the road im pulled over by the cops im thinking fair enuff this ought to be funny, anyway a smart arse rookie cop and an old sergeant get out and say i was speeding..10kms over so the old boy gives me a caution for speeding as he was doing that the rookie has got a coke can tried to push it under my car....says its too low, gets me to rev the shit out of my engine... says its too loud, checks my tint...too dark, anyway hes going over everything with a fine toothed comb but as hes writing out the defect notice in the cop car i show the clearance report to the sergeant he pisses himself laughing and he says show the the other cop when he comes back, so i show it to him just as hes about to put the sticker on i show him the report he reads it and says that i got all the mods done after i got the roadworthy report...so i showed him the time and date on the report he became really pissed off called me a liar etc so he put the sticker back on my car followed me to back to the licencing department to confirm everything i'd said... 5 minutes later the sticker was off, the sergeant apologised to me. as im about to leave the i over hear the rookie say to his sergeant 'i dont like being made a fool of by little shits like him" i just drove off with a smug grin.
although i understand the cops have a job to do they didnt have to harrass me for 2 hrs for nothing...they could been catching the real crooks
    anyway that my rant done
    respect my authoritah

HAHAH reading about this sorta stuff, good for a laugh.

Had my own experience about a month ago. I had a job in Wonthaggi, which i drove to staright after going out with mates. I didn't think it was worth sleeping, so I drove stragiht there. Anyway, I got to Wonthaggi and was looking for the Motel we were staying at. Couldn't find it, so I decided I'd park in the street and sleep.

Anyway, about an hour later, I get a knock on my window - cops! I wound down the window, and spoke to them. ANyway they were spinning some shit about how someone was in town, and security followed this person and they drove up on the foot path, then they go the description matches your car. Firtsly, was bullshit, there was no one around, no one was following me, NO ONE when i got to 'thaggi. Also, I drove up a driveway to look at a civic guide, which was unhelpful. Then they wanted to breathalyse me cause they thought I was drinking. I told them I was doing a security job, so they wanted to see my security, CCO license and Driver's. They also asked where I was staying, I told them that I couldn't find it, anyway they did checks, came back gave me my license and told me to go to the motel. They started to walk off and I go well i don't know where it is so I'll stay here. That's when they decided to give directions.

Seriously though, like I guess they were looking for something to do, but still....
