    Default Dangerous Behaviour at Cotter

Feedback Cotter Picnic 01 Nov 2009

Just like to make one comment about the hoon at the Cotter River, Canberra, 01 November 2009.

The reckless driving by one individual at the cotter picnic area was childish, I would have expected a more constrained performance than to act like an idiot in such a public location.

The picnic area was full of little kids and people, playing cricket, football, walking, catching yabbies, and having a great time.

The public road had blind corners, bicyclists and little kids wandering around.

Your blatent disrespect for others is commensurate with the amount of tread left on your tyres.

    Enjoy your day in court.

Thanks for branding us all as idiots.

The worst thing about all of it was this was a charity cruise. The group RushHour organized and ran this even to help support the Newborn intensive care unit at the canberra hospital. an dthey raised over $9000 dollars yesterday. and then this tool goes and dose this right at the end of the day. i just hope to hell that there was no media around because he will of ruined it for everyone.

Why does doing a burnout at the end of an event ruin a day? Was money still not raised? Did people stop donating because someone did a full sik skid?

300 metres is rather impressive, maybe it was his way of saying thank you lol? End of the day, your always going to have tossers that do that, nothing you can do except look and laugh or admire if you like that kind of thing.

No one was hurt, so no big deal really. Sure someone could get hurt, but I could fart, someone cop a whiff of it, look down and miss seeing the tyre that just come off a car down the road.

Sounds like the guys did a good job raising money

Isn't Rush Hour A Hoon Club?
I know a few people in it and from what they say they are just a bunch of wankers in their cars.. Charity or not you can't really expect anything else from a bunch of guys/girls like that.
    If they are reading-

Hopefully they don't deter more people from going out to events like this in the future as it was for a good cause.

    Minux, wtf?

Definitely ruins the event, every time a charity cruise happens and somebody goes and shows that car enthusiasts can't act responsibility it ruins the chances of it happening again.
    I'm sure nobody wants that.

How does it ruin the chances?

C4C has tossers on it every year, every year it gets bigger. Where is the evidence that it ruins it? Car enthusiasts are generally the reason things are ruined everywhere. Yet to meet someone who enjoys doing burnouts but hates cars lol.

I am not condoning it, just saying its not as bad as people make out.

Craig, we held a charity cruise a few years back and had some tosser do the same thing. Yeh all fun and games for him but we very nearly didn't get our deposit back for the venue because some douchebag thouight it was cool to lay rubber all over their carpark. We didn't bother after that year, would much rather give the charity our donation and not have to deal with all the crap.

Try organising prizes and entertainment for the C4C, its HARD because each and every year you have dicks who think its ok to act like fools at a "family friendly" event of which the sponsors & those who donated normally attend.

Yes it gets bigger every year but my job gets HARDER! It does matter.

Every cruise I've read about seems to have problems with police. I think that's why cruises started turning towards charity days, fundraising days to try and put the car enthusiast in a positive light. Proving that we can go out and have a responsibly day, cruising back and fourth and showing off our cars and raising money for the community or for a cause at the same time.

As soon as you start getting people doing burnouts and acting up, you start getting police attention, as Julie has said people don't like you using their venues.

If it was a cruise to a track that had a propertly set up burnout area, sure. But it's in the middle of a park, nobody wants that happening.

This is exactly right. when it comes down to insurance if this hero had taken out a kid doing something like this the organizer of the cruise can be held accountable and he can be sued. so explain to me how someone doing a massive burnout dosent ruin the day? i know for a fact this guy was a member of the RushHour group and had been told just like everyone else not to do burnouts at this cruise.
car enthusiasts in canberra cop a lot of negative feedback from the public and the police and for someone to do this in such a public place really dose make the rest of us look really bad

Only a mod like you would get away with saying that. I can not believe that you saying it is o.k. to act like an idiot on a public road. So it is ok to do a burnout if no one gets hurt, but if someone does get hurt it is not o.k.? Thats a very fine line to be sitting on Minux.

Yes there will always be an idiot at meets like this, but that don't make it o.k.

Hang on, where did I say it was ok? Please, highlight to me where I said it was fine?

Also, I think anyone could say what I did, it certainly doesn't violate any of JC's rules?

Simply saying, it is just a burnout, did it REALLY need an entire thread devoted to it? It wasnt JC who did it, so really who gives a shit.

Just 3 things in you responses that are pretty much saying it was ok...
    INNAWE (in awe)

Noun 1. awe - an overwhelming feeling of wonder or admiration; "he stared over the edge with a feeling of awe"
    2. awe - a feeling of profound respect for someone or something; "the fear of God"; "the Chinese reverence for the dead"; "the French treat food with gentle reverence"; "his respect for the law bordered on veneration"

All he is saying is, its not the massive deal everyone is making it out to be. Sure its illegal, but do we really need to carry on like ACA and make a big fuss out of a little burnout.

I think the point is, you're a moderator - and in every JC cruise thread it says Bad behaviour will not be tolerated. You should be enforcing that.

I think back in the day one of the guys on here that was a cruise organiser or something did a burnout and got his ass kicked? Wasn't airstrike was it? I can't remember too clearly.

Sorry, i should be enforcing people doing burnouts at other cruises? No one at JC has done anything wrong, what is there to enforce? By what you are saying if someone says they like burnouts they should be drawn and quartered.

As for what past mods have done, I have no idea? You obviously have a better memory of it than I do. is it really relevant? Obviously it happened int he past and all is fine now? Who knows.
