Well, Rang up supercheap today and asked if they had a sway bar link. After about 10 minutes of waiting another guy picks up the phone and says yeah, We have plenty. So I ring up Auto One and ask them, Guy says yeah no worries I'l check, Took him 2 minutes and he says yeah got some but they are heavy duty, $69.95. Though hmm bit pricey. So anyway, I went to supercheap and I was like "Hi, I rang up about the sway bar link's" and the guy was like yeah just over here and showed me a bloody swaybar. I was like umm thats not what I asked for and he was like oh, one sec and the prick went and served another customer, So I went over to Auto One and asked the guy, Straight away he knew what he was doing, Went and got me the set and knocked $10 off the price. So Auto One is now on top in my books, Think I'll go there from now on. Whats your favourite shop and please let me know your experiences. Cheers
I've always found Repco to be alright. Picked up a set of swaybar links from them for $40 when they were on sale. Had a mate that worked there, picked up my whole suspension setup for trade. They're also good if you need parts that they don't have. If another store (in the same region) has certain parts, they're usually bought to your local store within hours.
I think that they're probably better because they have a database that they use constantly to find parts and match the right parts to your model. It's not some guy trying to find stock in the show room.
Supercheap I don't even go near for parts.
Repco I don't like going to because they are never helpful, although I go sometimes when my mates working.
Favorite would be autobarn. They generally know what they are talking about and are friendly/helpful, plus they work with the local dyno so nice and simple to deal with both.
you only go to supercheap if you know they stock stuff that you know of, like oils etc,
never buy parts of them, everytime ive gone in there somewhere is returning brakes pads or the like

Yeah you only go to Supercheap if you know EXACTLY what you are after. If you think you will require any sort of customer service dont bother, they are completely ****ing useless.
Repco have pretty decent customer service, but recently have become extremely expensive lately.
Bursons is a good median. Good service and a decent price.
i find the best place to get parts is my shed, hoard what your likely to use in the future
My best place is Sprints.
Worst place is Autobarm. I mean what kind of place installs a CD player under the glovebox cause they can't be bothered taking the old deck and dash console thingy out.
Supercheap parts are mostly crap from my experiences. I bought a set of rear disc pads off them a few years ago and although they had decent stopping power, they were the dustiest crap pads I have ever used. They were Zero's I think; cheap and nasty.
Repco is OK but too damn expensive.
The one place I go to here is Parts for Cars. Only a small place but they bend over backwards to help you out and get the parts you want. Their prices are good as well![]()
LOL if you drive a commodore you will become an expert in buying new parts and know all your local automotive parts outlets because the damn thigs F*** up so often!
It depends who owns the store and who works in it, but the local repco is very good. Can't beat Holden (when they have stock).
Otherwise Summit racing is the best parts shop in the world![]()
In my experience, I've found Bursons to be the best for parts. Repco to have been alright, but are dearer then Bursons. The only bad thing about Bursons is that (for the stores I've been to) they are not open on Sunday
bursons have been very helpful for me usually got parts cheaper than repco.
supercheap is ok if i need something like a fuel cap or coolant or a fan belt.
i dont go to repco unless i have to, REPCO(Rip Every Poor C*** Off)

repco = price X 3 supercheap way cheaper here in NZ repco has just got rediculous on price we did conn one guy into giving us staff discount due to the horrendous price on a drive belt.i normally shop at supercheap hot girls good service went there 10 mins before closing last night to get a tierod end didnt have any in stock ordered one got a phone call at 9am this morning saying its here cant beat that for servicethey allways tend to stock the cheap brands as well as the highend for brake pads they had 4 different brands varying from $28 to $100 a front set
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
of all the supershit stores i've been into, i've only ever dealt with 3 people who know cars.
local autobarn is great, everyone there is into cars, the owner and parts manager are both former mechanics, one of the parts guys used to work for nolathane and the rest are backyarders like us.
former local autobarn was a joke though, pars manager claimed to be former mechanic but didn't know a strut bearing from a strut top plate (huh?) everyone else was fooli sik sub bro wankers with neons, fake BOVs and carbon fibre sticker kits
only dealt with bursons twice. once was great, second blew it
don't remember seeing repco anywhere round here, but haven't really looked.
when it comes to parts, i shop round. cheapest shop gets the coin

Auto 1,Bursons or repco.
I always find that the chicks at Supercheap are far more helpful than the guys.
the chick at my autobarn rocks. I used to go to Repco when BIL worked there (staff discount) but now Im pretty much left with Holdens & Autobarn & Sprints.
Supercheap is a waste of time as already stated unless you know what you want, and only want to use it once.
The only other shop I go to is the occasional visit to Sprints, I find the guys at Sprints REALLY know there shit over the rest.
