    Default The Angry Neighbour Thread

How do your neighbours respond to loud exhausts, subs and moments of stupidity in the street? If you have an angry neighbour story..... this is the place to tell it.

Everything is peaceful at my end. I don't make unnecessary noise and they do the same. I'm at work most of the days anyway and the weekends are not a problem either.

When i first got my yz250 i took it a block up from my house to test out in the bosses 2 acre paddock. (just on the edge of town).
About 5 minutes into it initial contact was made with the first neighbour telling me to put "a decent fricken muffler on that POS" I shrugged it off and continued (i have to listen to their hedge trimming and chainsawing most days).
Round two started 20 minutes into the ride. Midflight on one wheel the next neighbour walked straight out in front of my bike. Gave me the verbal abusing of my life...
For the next week we had numerous calls from various neighbours concerned about how often they'd have to deal with the noise...

had the cops called on me cause i told my neighbour to "Get the fu** off my deck" after he had been yelling at me for about 5 minutes, they told me i had no right to say that to him and wanted to arrest me for harrassment or something, i responded by saying "it's my house, it's my lawn, its my deck, i don't want him on it, nor do i want you on it" and shut the door.

you see, if they had been nice about it i would have been nice..

As soon as I get to our local area the music goes right down and the right foot lifts. I figure it's enough for them to have to listen to my droney-arse ecotec and the housemates weed-whacker corolla every day

The one complaint we have had was during a party where we were asked nicely to please watch our language at 4am. No complaints about the music or anything, just worried that their kids would pick up a few extra words. Had a good laugh about that one at the time

i live in the street, i dont do anything stupid in it, i leave that for the heroes in their vx commodores that lose control and end up backwards in the gutter(we have a t intersection right out the front of my house, and every wannabe decides he has to get it sideways though it)

i often forget we have neighbours, and im often being noisy with the angle grinder. but its mostly weekends, and the odd night after work. but i try to limit the noise after dark.

up in queensland, we had an old woman next door, concentration camp survivor she tells us, she was a bitch regardless of anything we did.

I've got a shitty droney exhaust but the neighbours don't care. They make more noise than i do. Especially the young bloke there thats the same age as me (27) he used to own a harley, and a supercharged R8 Maloo. And anytime he'd leave his driveway he'd rev the **** out of it making all this noise. No matter what time of the day or night. But i don't mind coz they're good neighbours otherwise. Just hate the ****wit losers that do burnouts in front of my house. They were doing it everyday for 2 weeks til nodday i went out and told them to **** off. They called me some pretty nasty words (a certain race of people with no respect for women) so i called the cops and haven't had them do one since if its the occasional burnout i would've let it slide. And even if they would've just swore at me for me telling them off then alright but they were harassing me coz i went out there with my kids and said some very sexist and racist things that i didn't appreciate so if they were going to be assholes about it then i was going to be a bitch about it. Lol.

My neighbors are anal. There are of 2 of us with loud'ish zorts in this ST. So, usually we gota leave the Street like a granny..

Every time we dont leave like a granny, we can expect cops coming around for "DISTURBING THE PEACE" or some BS, my god, a loud car = HOON! GET EM!

I dont do skids or burnouts hardly ever. Dont see the need to waste my tyres and brakes

My neighbours on one side called up one saturday night at 8.30 because apparently our music was to loud (were having a party)...we live on 5 acre blocks... told them to go **** themselves,i usually turn down the music at 11 anyways but I just let it go that night

Other neighbours had a bitch cause apparently had my stereo up to loud, even though I hadn't had my stereo plugged in for weeks.

Pertty much spot on there, its all about respect. We had issues with the rear neighbour after i asked him (nicely)to turn his music down. What theat did was start him thumping it from the time he come home every day.Yes it got very heated but he was a tennent and was gone within a year.
He now lives a few streets away and now has a child and keeps a very quiet household.

Where i live i'm right in the middle of "the circuit", you know that strip of road where everyone drives their cars up and down all night long. No real problem though, doesn't bug at all really not many are silly enough to let loose on a huge fishtail as its usually quite heavily policed around here.

lol i have posted a similar thread a while ago. one side a youngish couple he has a vtish wagon and not a bad stereo, the one you hear before you see....he will drive into his driveway with it still pumping. the latest hes done that has been just around 10pm, you can expect him to doing it when he leaves. i have seen him in a car park blowing into one of breatho interlocking things. we have about 5foot fences and i can see over them (just) he/she is just over the other side they don't look over or say hi, when i do they seem surprised.

We have a mate who tears off when he leaves the house, it gets very frustrating as we tell him to stop doing it or we will stop inviting him over. Has a droney 5L stroked to 5.7 with a sh*t exhaust.

Why would anyone do a burnout in their own street...

back on topic: my neighbours are good, infact one of them walks his super-bike to the end of the street (20m) when he works early not to wake anyone up. I keep it quiet as do my family.
