I'm flying to Melbourne tomorrow for work, I'm there for the next two weeks and was wondering if there is anything really good to see?
I'll be working on a plant at Dandenong South, but should be able to take one of the company cars out at night, so anything within about an hours travel or so is cool.
I saw the city last time, so looking for something a little less touristy...
Cheers guys
With a company car a track day at phillip island would be my pick![]()
Once you have experienced Dandy South you would have just about seen it all!

Yeah its a colourful place... been told its a pretty slummy place but suits our industry. All I've really seen is the 24 hour coles and a few shops, but its enough to pick up that its a wonderful place...
phillip island track day is out I'll only have a few hours after 8-9pm

Southbank is pretty good if you are after a trendy kind of thing - or there are some very good restaurants at Docklands however it's not car friendly.
Mornington peninsula is good for a drive as are the Dandenong ranges. For something truly epic take a drive to Moe and drop in on Hakhawk.

Go for a drive around the Dandenong Ranges.
Or drive along the Black Spur to Healsville (on weekends).
Or drive into the Melbourne CBD for a quick drink and
light bashing.
You can visit Reaper if you like. He's not far away.
I'm not afraid.
Hey i work in Dandy South too .If its too hot for you ,you can come and sit in my freezer and chill out lol

Do you know Ordish road?
I was hoping that heat wave was over.... You have a freezer, I'm working on an incinerator...
I work in Dandenong, not sure if it's south though haha. Work at Peter Stevens motorcyclesHarley Heaven to be precise.
Go for a cruize along the great ocean road on a weekend?
I know Ordish road. There is a massive galvanizing plant down there.
kk - Used to work on Hammond Road myself. I'm not far from there now. Thought it might have been the huge cold storage thing that backed onto another of my old factories near the Prince Mark Hotel (yet another outstanding monument to the area).

hah, dande south. diddnt know there was so much life there. Im occasionally at a warehouse on greens rd.
Ha ha the Prince Mark . Had many a drunken lunch on Fridays when i worked at GM-H . I remember the abbos used to hang around in the toilets and wait till you went into the cubicles for a crap. They used to wait till you bent down to pull up your pants then they would kick the door in so it would smack you on the head and knock you out cold then they would pinch your wallet ,watch and anything worth taking

dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Mount Dandy is always good, even middle of the night. Plus the drive up the hill is good. It looks like it's going to be an interesting meet at FG this week. I'll be back down from Sydney, and finally get a chance to meet everyone.
