Did anyone else get stuck at the boomgates at Ormond? OMFG SO ANNOYING!
i got off the train at 8:10 am and was stuck there for 40 mins i rekn. and i saw ppl starting to be HARDCORE and drive across the tracks. i thought, "great im gonna witness someones death" the guy that started it went 'fully hecticly sideways brooo'. i LOL'd pretty hard, haha.
but then the popo rocked up in the knick of time
when i finally got to work, i heard other ppl saying that the detours all had boom gates down to and one had a train just sitting across the road.
WOOO CONNEXits going to be another amazing summer of service. *sigh*

Well they're not too bad, they make the most of what they have to work with..still not the greatest though. The Victorian Government is just as bad though.

in summer is REALLY bad.
when i first started working in bentleigh east (travel from northcote) the trains were always 30-60 mins late, every afternoon. they just cant perform in the heat. and i dnt wanna drive because i will clock up to many kms.plus when i put 20s on i wont be able to afford rubber

Yeah I used to drive to Bayswater every morning for work at 6 am. Without fail I would always get caught at the Bayswater train station on Mountain Hwy where the boom gates just wouldnt go up for atleast 15 minutes because a train was waiting in the station.
LOL. today people were turning off their cars, holding on the horn like in a movie, and when one person would get out, EVERYONE would try and copy haha.

Well at least we know where our money is going. Outrages tax rates, poor public health system, poor public transport system, poor infrastructure, critical level water storage.
Not to mention Connex who fine you $170 for merely 'touching' a seat with your foot. Haha I think they've taken lessons from the cops, go out looking for people to make a mistake and pounce on the slightest thing. It's all revenue raising...for what?
Japan doesn't have a very high tax rate and if a train is more than 30 seconds late arriving or departing you get a letter to your employer explaining why you were late and a full refund and a days worth of free travel on the train system,

yeah the fines are rediculous!
my bf has around $600 in connex fines i think. he has 3 final demand notices that are over due. guess he's going to court. LOL.
at the sydney road and morland road intersection last week a tram came of the tracks and then all the light screwed up but that got fixed but 10 mins later a train comes and leaves the gates dont go up and for about 15mins people where just crossing the tracks and this big semi trailer nearly took out the boom gate
the worst was when these to people left each side of the boom gate at the same time and triend to cross and a train was coming but the train stopped in time
then my mate called the cops and they came and redirected the trafic and it was fixed with in 10 mins after conex people came
they really need to clean up there act abit
yeah its so dangerous!
apparently last yr in summer one time, the brakes failed on the train, and the boomgates failed at the same time (LOL?!)

3 hours.. hell, 2 and a half is more than enough for anyone. I could catch a vline train but can't be jagged running to make it.
when those to cars got stuck i was like holy crap but the train stopped in time
there was this old guy wavin people across the tracks before the cops came but they got him and he got in a fair bit of shit pritty stupid what he was doin
it makes me hate life. but then i walk home and see my beautifual car begging for a drive and lifes great again

at thuis particular crossing, theres 4 tracks (i think)
and express trains go REALLY quickly across there. death without a doubt.
yer theres only 2 tracks at this one but there is still freight trains but wasnt any running then which was lucky cause they dont slow down
connex ticket prices are to much aswell $10.20 for a daily zone 1 n 2 its bs
if they made prices cheaper alot cheaper and made it more reliable and more services alot more people would catch public transport i know i would catch it alot more

As a train driver myself, please people be patient if the booms at a Level Crossing fail.
By design, when the circuiting that operates them fail the gates automatically go down to prevent a case of the gates not going down when there IS actually a train coming the other way.
There's nothing more terrifying as a driver to be involved ina collision with a car or a human being. Trains don't stop straight away as a road vehicle does. Even at say 20km/h a freight train will still take a good 150m to come to a complete stand. There are so many forces involved in the retardation/stopping of a train.
