Hot Air

I have a 2003 CV8 and have been experiencing a couple of strange problems:
1. Warm air is blowing in through vents even when climate control is set to lowest temp (air con not on) and outside temp is cold. I have been told this is a generic problem but I would like a confirmation from the experts out there.

2. Outside temp gauge shows temps that are at least 5 degrees hotter than actual outside temp. I understand there is a techline for this problem, if anyone has access can they PM to me.
