You're gonna have to forgive me being from WA and all, but what is a vort test? You mean the Practical driving assessment or the hazard perception?

oh sorry, here in SA we have a vort test or another option is a cbt test. vort is the vehicle on road test which is a 45 min drive with a liscenced tester, and a cbt is like a log book progression sort of thing. it stands for competency based test i think.

well technically, ur not allowed to use both feet, while driving an automatic, so in technical terms you should be okay to take the test

you can use both feet while driving an automatic, with one foot on the accellerator and one on the brake, your reaction time is alot faster than resting the left foot and using the right for acceleration and braking, you just ride the brake alot using both feet, and thats from an NRMA book which they tested on. I highly doubt your doing your test bigman.

left foot braking is considered dangerous though as in emergency situations can result in human reaction putting down right foot instead of left

Quote your source or get lost. Using two feet is definitely NOT safer. I know 2 women friends that have caused accidents by accidentally breaking instead of accellerating when using two feet in an auto. They also admit to being at fault.

Just for info for anyone, TransportSA NEVER have any idea of an answer. All you get is a different persons opinion, and a different answer depending on who you speak to.

when I broke my left ankle, and then years later my right wrist, both times I was given a pamphlet about driving, and casts. You are not allowed to drive a motor vehicle with a limb in plaster.

No. As Norti said if your limb is unable to function normally, ie: no splint, plaster, brace or any other immobilising dressing, you will be unable to take the test.

well my driving instructor said it was fine to use both feet whilst driving an automatic and the nrma said its safer only downside is brake riding. It was in either the june or july of that nrma book.
