I have a garden shed that I want to tear down and replace with some turf. I'm not too worried about the shed it's more the concrete slab that I'm going to find underneath it. Does anyone have any advice or know how much it would costs approx to get something like this removed?

If it is quite thick, hire a jack-hammer. Then the skip as mentioned before.
Are there any skills involved with using a jack hammer or is it just brute force?
just have ear plugs so you dont damage your ears. and make sure the bits of the slab you break up you can manage to carry to the skip
Kennards hire will show you how to do it (or any other hire place if you ask im sure they'd be happy to help)
as far as i know - plug it in let her rip and keep downward pressure on it.
and break up little bits - be careful of the shaking etc through your arms can become painful.
Thanks for the advice, next step the council!
Yeah break it up into small pieces and watch for pipes/ electrics
i see that shed an think, "how many people have tried to grow a plant or two in there i rekon"
but yer basically what everynone else has said, get onto council to see if there are any conduit pipes underneath that bad boy and fire up the jack. have fun.
Ha ha I'll keep an eye out for any remains!
It has a toilet and a sink so there will definately be some pipes under there to watch out for!
I work in local government. You should apply for a demolition order. The only way it would not be approved if it is of some local importance or an the Heratige Listings. You would already know if it is listed as it has to be stated at the time os purchase.
Cant help with pricing as that that could vary heaps with size of building, dump costs, slab thickness and if it has rio in it or not.
But as others have said it wouldnt be too hard to do, just organize a skip(find out how much you can put in it) get a sparky and plumber in to disconnect anything and go for it.
heres my ride, i know its not much but its mine

Why don't you just keep it, rent it out to some students as a heritage granny flat, Sydneys in a house crisis at the moment, i am sure there would be no storage of tenants. Haha.
Just make sure as mentioned that you check services around the shed. Don't want to rip anything up that you're not supposed to.![]()
To get rid of the actual shed, find a ford, drive said ford through shed.
With the slab get a decent size jackhammer, you'd probs want an electric one unless you have a massive air compressor.
Not much technique to jackhammering, start at the edges and try and make cracks, aim to break off around shoe size pieces.
The biggest thing to remember with the jackhammering is let the jackhammer do the work, don't put loads of force on it and use your brain, its not all about force.
Goodluck lol
just dont go too wild with the jackhammer and get the bit stuck in the slab, they can be a real bitch to get back out.
