Schoolies is gay. Fair enough let off steam after 13 years of study but the shit all these kids get up to these days is ridiculous.

I refused to go to schoolies. Rather have a BBQ at a mates or go down to the local. Rather spend quality time with mates than spend heaps of money on grog and accomodation...

Ah Schoolies. Best party week of my life. Back in '04 my mates and I stayed at my parents shack down at Middleton (just out of Victor Harbor in SA). The arranged Schoolies thing at Victor Harbor was pretty lame, but house parties every night with recovery sessions the next arvo were where it was at (from what I remember of it). Helped having a bottleo and bakery in walking distance too Held a party one night in the back yard, was pretty eventful.. I believe there was an ambulance at some point... my memory is pretty hazy.

Point is, people who refuse to go to schoolies, think its shit or whatever- you've got no idea what you missed out on!

I spent a week and a bit with 5 good mates in a beach house right on the beach in kingscliff, (15-20mins from goldie) was bugger all crowds and we headed up to the goldie on the weekend. Was a fantastic week, spent entirely too much money on grog but.

I'd suggest to anyone looking at gold coast in the next couple of years to look at staying at kingscliff

I spent my schoolies in Airlie Beach, our crew 60+ had pretty much hired a entire hotel to ourselves, id have to say it was mad fun,me n a mate had over 300 ounces of homebrew grog, from bourbon, rum, butterscitch, vodka, it was gone by the third day, ripped half my toe off, jumped into a spa off a roof, got thrown in a paddy wagon, made some mad friends and said goodbye to alot i havnt seen since.

Schoolies was fun, wouldnt do it now, id get into to much trouble. party safe young dudes.

this blokes right...get a house/apartment a lil way away from central goldcoast...so u only go in a few nights and it's better to stay at home and make your on fun with ur mates...

meanwhile i just got back from schoolies at 6 this morning hahaha..me and mates went to almost every club on the coast and it was 3am lockout before we knew it so made our way to the casino because it has a 24hr bar!..sitting on the smoking deck watching the sun come up still drinking..thinking we should catch a bus and train home soon..was fun being a toolie because you can get in all the clubs but theres still heaps of chicks around.

A buddy of mine has just retired at the age of 45 and moved up to QLD 2 weeks ago to live in his investment property. It's not far from Cavill avenue actually, he reckons they are driving him insane already at nightime. Idiot girls running around drunk and screaming, and even bigger idiot males doing worse.

Lucky he is 6 foot 2 and 110KG, he just needs to walk out his front door and stare at whoever is making noise and they quickly move along.

Still, one shouldn't have to put up with it. I agree, can schoolies. Putting aside the fact the local economy makes money from it, it only brings negativity anyway. People drown, get drunk, get arrested, cause trouble, property gets damaged, females get raped sometimes, innocent people get assaulted etc etc.

Not worth the small amount of money the local economy makes in my opinion.

All schoolies looks like to me is a bunch of drunken idiots partying in Cavill avenue and on the beach. That's all.
