Question Anybody know a good lawyer??

Befor you ask, No! Not a speeding, red light, reckless or indecent exposure thing!.

I have been chasing a lawyer/ legal rep. for a few month on and off, advise is all i am after really. No one wants to call back, and those that do make me chase my tail so i lose interest, wait a week or two and try again. Thus far no luck, so wahts the harm of asking here??

Give ya a quick run down just so you know where im coming from

About this time last year, actually last day of work! Went a few place with a couple mates, kind of a unintentional pub crawl, meeting up with all the different crew at diffrent spots and having a feww drinks along the way. Ended up in the city, kicked on for a few hours. Left there about 12am (had a big one planned the next night) cabbed home with mates, and i was the last stop. Got out a bit befor my house, as i figured a walk would be good to help sobber up a bit, and it was the same way i used to work to and from the bus for High School, All back streets in quite suburbs. Anywho, started walking a bit and some blokes popped out from some garage, wanted to chat. Me being slightly less cautious while intoxicated proceeded to chat, all good. said bye walked off, bout 15 seconds later got king hit from behind( SUPRISE!!!...Not, Yes i know better) Got back to my feet, had a few swings and managed to leg it. With not much more then my pride hurt i kept on stroling home, about 3 min's from where i currently was and then i saw car headlights coming down the road, about 3 sets from memory. Realised that they were heading in my direction so i turned and hauled ass! Needless to say, 1 pissed me Vs 3 Cars = Pain.. Got boot bashed pretty bad by more people then i copuld count, all 5 shades of sh!t were pretty much betten out. i got away, hid for about 2 hours in a little kids cubby house, then tracked it on home. Next day down the hospital, various cuts, brusies and grazzes, but worst of all had my lip split to almost the bass of my nose and 2 pieces of my jaw floating round my head.. good times. 3 plates, 28 screews and about 50 odd stitchs, oh and 5 days in the hospital! Ongoing dental, pain blah blah blah...

Problem was i didnt want to drag up the sh!t afterwards, i was to pissed to positivly ID any one with out doubt, which ment no to blame could be lane. Didnt want to faulsely accuse some one that didnt deserve it.

So now i still have a fugly as scars on my face, arms and body. A sore mouth, and a bit of a bad memory.

I just want to know if
a)If anyone can give me some insight on rights
b)Know anybody (In Adelaide) that can sheed some light
c)Know if a have any rights / Intitlements

Long post, my bad. But hey if nothing else take it as a "what not to do"!

    Cheers

Not quite sure what you want a lawyer for exactly.

If you are looking for a victims of crime payment, first you need to have your attacker(s) prosecuted. Without a conviction, my understanding is you cannot apply for monies under this scheme.

It would really help your case if you can remember their house (when you were chatting with them). If you can't, no point in bothering with a lawyer.

True Sashyre, but from the minimal amount of info iv rounded up, there are 2 types of compo claims. Victims Of Crime & Crime Compensation.
The First - VOC, Is with a convicted person or people to prosecute
the Second - Crime Compo, Is for unresolved issues, i thinks more for rape victims, random assults anbd other unresolved crimes that still need closer/support, weather that be money or couciling or anything eles that may help.
But this being the point of the post, more info if any one knows. If not, cant hurt more thana kick in the teeth... lol

I am absolutely positive that you can get crimes compensation payout
They don't pay too bad a mate of mine got less injurys than I've gotten on a footy field and got $20K
Not certain at this stage you need a lawyer i think you can just speak to somebody at the police ombudsman's office to put plans in action.
When you have done some leg work the sharks (read Laywers) will be jumping over each other to help you out.
Don't forget there maybe a statute of limitations on time to make a claim though

Iv tried it, No response from emails, and calls got to a receptionist who'll "pass on my msg". Thats why i thought perhapse there was somone studying law or somthing that might see the thread and shead some light.
Im trying the case review, as i think last time i just sent a direct email off a link, i cant see the case review with the screen minimised to half width.
    Thanks for looking though!
