Hi folks,
Got the letter yesterday.... this is the 3rd time the b***ds have called me up for jury duty. Unfortunately since I got laid off, I can't get my boss to write me a letter to get me out of it.
I thought of playing the racist card (ie. "if they're not white they must be guilty"), but knowing my luck they'd send me to Tolerance Camp or something.
Any ideas?

Don't you get paid for the day?
considering that he got laid off, $35 seems better than the nothing he'd get sitting at home. everyone else has to do it - what makes you so special onca?
i got called to one. sat in a room for half the day listenin to my ipod. then got told my 'services' were no longer needed. was looking forward to it tho, prob cause id been watchin law & order before it haha.
I got a letter once. But i qualified for one of their exemptions coz i have children and i'm the primary carer of them. But all i had to do was write a letter about it or something. Don't remember having to get anything from centrelink to prove it or anything. Just wrote the letter myself and sent it back. Never heard anything back about it. Don't know if they would've checked it out or not.
hate arseholes who try to get out of their civic duty...no doubt the same people whinge when crimes go unpunished.
It is illegal to try and "worm" out. Deal with it.
