Is a defect something to be proud of?

I've seen on car forums all too many times that people seem to be proud of their defects. What's the deal? Do they think the masses look up to them? Is the inconvenience of having a car off the road really with worth the cool factor? You can modify a car within state guide lines and still make it look good.

Lol - I did get a defect once because my horn wasn't loud enough. It was louder than the police car but not loud enough. That was only coz he didn't have the evidence to charge me with anything else and I was a real smart arse at the time (19 years of mature glory)

But seriously, anyone who does stupid shit like that should go and speak with the family of a victim due to a road accident where a stupid driver is at fault. you can't imagine how hard it would be for a family if they lost their 19 year old daughter or 25 year old son becuase some d*ck decieded to street race with bald tyres and no springs. Not have their car taken away for a rediculious 48hours, anyone could live without a car for 2 days, it hould be more like a month, ofcourse it depends on what the offense was but street racing in suburban streets should be more like a month not two days.
