what a coincidence! the only way i can get my 2 year old son to sleep is if he's in the front seat of the car, no child seat, no seatbelt, and i'm doing 250km/h down the mornington peninsula freeway.

um... well this is a warm welcome...

i do things in moderation mind you when i have a child in the car, i wasnt refering to exceeding the speed limit, more of the acceleration, i do keep her safe.. its not my fault she falls asleep with it, but wakes up and screams when i drive slow..

lol don't worry i know what you mean, I think people without kids don't get it. My son is always on at hubby and I to "go faster" and well I'm not a hoon but theres no harm in cruising along at 70 in an 80 zone and tromping it to get up to 80 to make the kids happy. I just do what I can do to make the ride fun for the kids whilst being safe and legal if that means accelerating hard sometimes wheres the harm, not like we're doing burnouts lol. Driving in a way to amuse your kids is not something easily explained to those that aren't in the situation but I'm sure if people seen what we are on about they wouldn't have any problems
When my daughter was a little baby we would have to take her out for a drive on many occassions to get the little bugger to sleep. My sons not much better hes a 3yr old motorbike hoon and loves to go fast, he actually fell asleep sitting on a motorbike while I was riding a couple of times.

Well anyway, welcome to the forum

That's how we greet everyone. Plus most people here have a low tolerance for bad behavior on the roads (that includes me). Troy was right for calling you on that. But as you say everything in moderation.

    Apart from that welcome!

In a blown 355, or a XR6, risking spinning the wheels and losing control?

lol the 355 is lucky to make it out the garage once every 6 months and I don't think the xr6's wheels could spin, never spun the wheels on either car in my life or lost control. Theres a difference between accelarating hard and spinning the wheels. Like I said its something thats hard to explain without it sounding bad without witnessing it, I'm sure 90% of u fellas would take off faster at the lights than I ever do when amusing the kids

I believe Julie, it's refered to as "Undue/Unnecessary Acceleration" Which is why, if you "tromp" it from the lights, even with no wheelspin, and no other car around, you can find yourself with a fine.

lol I never said anything about about tromping it from the lights, I used the example cruising along doing 70 and tromping it to get to 80. You know kind of how one might be in a 70 zone then they come up to an 80 zone so they put their foot down and accelerate. I can't speak for what this other fellas is doing but I know I am driving perfectly fine within the law and quite safely, I have a perfect driving record, no fines, not involved in any accidents so I think I'll just keep doing what I am thanks

I read the original post and remember it but didnt post because everyone was bitching him out and I wasnt happy. Anyway, buy the VN SS or another one like it if the guy seems too dodgy.

Everyone around here is a bit of a anti hoon nazi these days. Just remember if you don't consistently at least push gently on laws and rules to hold them open they will cave in ontop of you

I'm a "hoon" of a different type now. I'm no longer a "Commodore hoon" i'm one of those ones who raises their car instead of lowering it according to the new Vicroads laws

Do you need to Morton screw a skid plate under it so you can slide over rocks Hummer style rather than climb them

Well, it still has the factory plastic one, took it for a burn in a mates paddock saturday morning, hit a ridge real hard, got the front wheels off the ground a little bit, plastic bash plate didn't like the thumping landing.
